I'm having stash/storage envy. Bigtime!

Looks fantastic! Just wondering something about yarn storage - do you have the yarn wrapped in plastic bags as an organizational mechanism, or do you have some other reason (fear of moths/damage etc...).

Very Cool!!! I love it! I think they are going to put an IKEA near us, I can't wait!! :)

Ooh! I love it! It is actually stylish too... what a concept with yarn storage. love it!

The plastic bags do help keep things together, but they are mostly there just in case of moths. I keep my finished wool sweaters in cedar chest too.

I sooo need one of those. It looks so nice and organized and you actually see everything. Very cool! :)

I love that cabinet!! What is the IKEA name of it? I am buying a house and I need to find some great yarn storage for my stash!

Well, it looks like you've got enough yarn for a week, Ms. Speedy Knitter. However, where are the works-in-progress pls?

Leslie

Thanks for the pics & inspiration! I think you're a knitting mentor to a lot of us!

where do you store your oddball yarns...leftover remnants from projects? that's my dilemma...what to do w/the leftovers...besides use the yarn for ribbon when wrapping gifts... :)

Oh, how I love looking at organized yarn. What a great cubby- I love that you can still see all that gorgeous yarn inside- makes me want to knit!

That looks awesome, I love it. I've noticed that old stash expands to fit whatever new storage container I bring home. I'm still in the rubbermaid bin stage.

It looks great! You're not going to believe that I've spent the part of the last 2 Saturdays trying to 1. find Kampe at the Pittsburgh IKEA (it's discontinued) and 2. trying to replicate a similar storage vehicle. I'm super-envious.

Forget stash envy, I have storage envy!

Gorgeous - looks like picture frames with decorative mats. Do you have some kind of UV filter on that glass? Moths are one thing - light could be another.

I have to comment, I am absolutely green with envy over the combination of the stash and the storage system. What a perfect place to store your stash, it looks neat and tidy, yet you can still see all the beautiful yarn.

Ooh I love it. It looks great. I love how you can see your stash so easily. I am going to have to think about one these myself for my beads and yarns.

Where will you put the yarn you bought today?

Should be called "The GREEN blog". You're making us all green with envy!

What fun to peek in and see your beautiful and well organized stash. I'm currently cleaning and working through my stash - once I'm done I might treat myself to a similar glass covered storage unit and get rid of my hunky looking plastic storage bin.

Isn't it fun to peek into other people's stash?!

The storage unit is called Kampe. I had no idea that it was discontinued! Looks like I got lucky to get some. And I keep oddballs and leftovers in some soft IKEA boxes. I think they're for magazines or records. They're selling smaller ones for CDs now. They're more attractive than you're basic plastic bins and hold a LOT!

Very impressive storage unit, but I'm more impressed with the -- what? Photoshop? -- whatever it is you used to give us the labels and arrows. I'm such a dunce about that stuff, and wish I knew more.

Wow, that's really nice! If it were MY stash, the books to yarn ratio would be reversed. Yeah, I love my knitting books.

posted by lauraA on february 21, 2005

This looks gorgeous. I would be very happy if my stash would fit into it, but for the yarn only I would need at least double the size. Moreover, I cannot remember having seen these at IKEA in Europe.

wowza! looks great!

My only question is, do you have books stashed aay somewhere else? I know that my books wouldn't fit in there. I know have to go to IKEA to look for a better stoarge system.

I love your storage unit! I was looking at your post yesterday, when my husband came in the room. I pointed out the great storage unit to him and was commenting on how nice it looked, etc. He said that if we had something like that it wouldn't look nearly as nice because I have too much yarn. Do'h...I didn't think he'd noticed! Thank goodness he hasn't been in a store to price it all!

Thank you for the organizational inspiration! It is time for a good spring cleaning!

I'm SO glad you posted a picture of this, b/c I've been curious ever since you posted about your husband (and twins) putting this together! I'm starting to amass the oddly sized Rowan mags too and am wondering where to store them...maybe at your house! :-D

I'm sorry to bother you with this question, because I know I've asked before, but was reminded by this picture. Do you have three different kinds of balls for the Onde?

Thanks for the Leftovers pattern- I just finished one and I love it!
