I like the Robert Frost tie-in and it's very very hip.

OK. This is the first shrug pattern I've seen that I would actually wear! I love it!

In sockapaltwoza news, my sock died a quick, painless yarn death, after it because all too clear that it looks ridiculous. ( http://fiberfish.blogspot.com/2005/07/mistakes-revealed.html ). I'm going to start over again.

Love, love, love that shrug! The colors are gorgeous!

I'm a big Frost fan and your version is so perfect. I always feel like that (having promises to keep and miles to knit before I sleep) because I'm forever in a panic to finish gifts! I think it's my propensity for setting unrealistic goals that gets me into trouble!

sockapaltwoza news: finished with the first cable rib sock, casting on today for the second one. I'll try to get a picture to you.

OMG! OMG! Must make one as a good summer/fall transition knit. I'm thinking grey-ish purples and violets. Love the colors, and I love the bold waves. And I'm not a fan of novelty yarns. I didn't get a good sense of the shrug when I saw it last week.

Good thing that I'll be at W&W tomorrow. Bwah-ha-ha!

Oh you evil, evil girl! That is a beautiful shrug and I am very tempted by it. You know how much I love shrugs! I must be good and not break my yarn diet. I must not make a trip to Downtown Yarns and ask for the Feather and Fan shrug in Nipper colors. No, Jenn, no! Be good!

Alison, it's gorgeous. I really like the combination of colors and stripes with the feather and fan pattern. It's very modern and non-fussy - looks great on you!

You brought tears to my eyes. Weird? Let me explain: My youngest is an aspiring artist and last Christmas she painted me a scene with this quote (well, you know, the original). It is one of my favorite poems and the gesture brought tears to my eyes then. You not only reminded me of the memory, but sparked an idea of what she might create for me if I ask, for this Christmas.

Really pretty! I love the dark blue yarn. Sounds like you've got a lot of knitting to do in the next two weeks.

The bigger it gets the prettier it gets. You are a temptress, you are. Oh no, the mouse is heading toward the link! Must. not. give. in.
. . . Oh well, what's one more project? [Click.]

That is super pretty! I've been sort of playing with a similar idea for a shawl... I love different shades of blue all mixed together!

Hi Alison,
I'm new to weblogs, and commenting, but I read your blog daily. What amazing projects! You really inspire me to take knitting chances. I was in your archives and spotted the giraffe jackets for your sons. So wonderful! I'm trying to start the process of tracking that pattern down, but as I'm sure you've heard, it's pretty difficult. Do you have any advice?

Thanks! Your fan,
Melissa Lion
