Cookie Monster? Some sort of muppet ... or maybe a dust mop .... good thing you knit quickly! Her Ladyship wants to be a werewolf, and I admit that I thought about knitting the head piece ... but then I didn't. You are braver than I.

Mazel Tov to Shannon! That looks like a cool costume in the works, and definitely like a muppet. I like the chuppah. Was it batik?

Actually, this may be the one legitimate use of fun fur. Can't wait to see the costumes.

Blue from Blue's Clues?

My kids are getting hand-knit costumes as well. Well, just Teletubbie hats.

Thing One and Thing Two wigs/hats?

Eli, the chuppah was made by the groom's mother. She's an incredible quilter and sewed all the hand-dyed silks into an amazing pattern of fall leaves.

I'm guessing that you are making monster costumes from Monster's Inc. Add some purple to that blue and you've got Sully.

My first thought was Cookie Monster. Are they going to be Sesame Street characters?

I so hope it's Thing 1 & Thing 2.

yippee - my socks arrived over the weekend, just in time for the quick weather change. I'll post pics on my blog, but wanted to let you know that I'm all set!

I'm also betting on Thing 1 and Thing 2. I started to make the very same hats for my twins, but neither one would wear it! So they are pumpkins again in the same pumpkin sweaters and hats that they were last year.

A jewish wedding huh...I never would have guessed =)
Mazal Tov.
I love that blue fur...can't wait to see what you are making. I've begun wondering what will my son go as for Haloween...

Scully! That's what I thought of when I saw all that blue, shaggy fur. Not quite crazy enough to knit up Halloween costumes, but I do stitch em up each year, so would that make me *partially* crazy?

I am going with the thing one/ thing two theme...and I have 2 boys too...hmmmm (just not real twins, we call them irish twins)

Hallo!
We DO have softball in Germany! But it isn't very popular yet.
The ladies in my home town are something like the "German master".
Bye!

What a lovely chuppah! Oh and I received a lovely thank you note from Linda-she loved the socks and they fit! The amazing thing is they arrived just before she movied cross country! I was wondering why I hadn't heard anything and now it all makes sense.

I was thinking thing one and thing two also. Blue wigs, red footed jammies, a set of twins, and off you go! What a riot.

Deeana, you're right! Although I really like the idea of Sully from Monsters, Inc. too. It would be fun to make a Mike costume wouldn't it?! More details on the costumes tomorrow!

Woo Hoo! With the amount of play my kids got out of last year's Hallowig, I may have to make one or two of these myself.

Thank you everybody for your kind comments -- especially about the chuppah! I'll be sure to pass them on to Jason's mom. I'm checking in from Granada, Spain (where I just made my first YARN PURCHASE of the honeymoon -- woohoo!), and of course Alison's was the first (and only) blog I checked. You guys can't believe how totally adorable the twins were at the wedding, and how incredibly well-behaved they were the whole weekend. And don't even get me started on Alison's gorgeous shawl! :) Hasta luego!
