First it's the Internet, next it's the rest of the world!

Oh yes, I commandeered a subway car this morning (not really, but there was lots staring at the two circulars).

You can TiVo Canadian TV from the US? If this some kind of networking trick?

That's pretty nifty, isn't it?? We're going to make the world a warm and fuzzy place, one stop at a time!

I think it's spelled "technorati".

Strange... I thought technorati was for academic blogs... but then, I haven't really looked at it too closely.

Knitting rocks!

Here's the URL for the Technorati website, if anyone wants to blog surf:

if you use moveabletype, you can have it ping technorati everytime you post a new entry and technorati will index your blog for links that use rel="" in the anchor tag. it's a really brilliant feature and i use it everyday! when i link to other knit bloggers or patterns etc., i use such tags as rel="knit knitting blog" or rel="knit knitting patterns yarn". it's a great way to drive traffic to your site and other knitters as well.

we knitters will rule the world one day. i'm sure of it!

About a year ago I was at the blogging company moveabletype and the sales guy says, "Do you believe it, the most popular type of blog 2nd only to politics is knitting." Heck yeah I believe it!

Heck yeah I believe it! I still haven't read a blog that wasn't about knitting... What else could be interesting enough to want to show and tell about on a daily basis?

Nah, Colleen, the G4 network in America (and on our RCN digital cable), buys episodes of the Canadian tv show. PS - That's the same network that bought up hubby's favorite channel, Tech TV, then killed all the best geek shows (like the original "Call for Help") and instead brought non-stop blabbing about video games.

Andrea, I just copied the transcripts of the show from their website. No idea how Technorati is spelled, but man, you'd think THEY could get it right, huh?!

Thanks for the links, Mary, and the info, Gleek!

Yeah, Nona, my webmaster is good friends with the MovableType people and they know all about us. Along with the Catholic blogs, the knitters are like one of the biggest group of "themed blogs" using MovableType.

Ha, ha, Ruth, good one! :)

ruby on rails, it's a programming language like PERL (RUBY) and Rails is a framework, so Ruby running on the rails framework. It's for making bad ass web applications.

How funny you should post this, I watched that episode last week! I love Call For Help & have my fiance a little hooked as well. Yes, Amber Mac's comment made me chuckle & peeved at the same time. Of course knitting always comes up, why shouldn't it? Geez, Amber! LOL
