happy Knitty knitting!

leftovers

After knitting coats for my boys that used very small amounts of contrast colors, I found myself with several almost full skeins of yarn left over. What to do? I acquired a few more skeins in other colors (they were actually leftovers from friends' projects in the same yarn!) and set about putting them all together. The small and varying amounts suggested stripes and my yarn and colors suggested a fall vest (if you've got a lightweight yarn and bright colors, call yours a tank and wear it next summer!). Make up your own stripe sequence based on the amounts of yarn you have left. The vest is meant to fit snugly to make the little bit of yarn you've got left go far. The bulky ribbing at the waist and neck adds a dash of style. Featured in Knitty's Winter 2004 issue.
