odds and ends
OK, I've got a few assorted little projects that I have to get finished by December (well, let's say middle of December). Clockwise from bottom center: I'm working on the back of the tiger hat for my nephew. I have yet to start the Opal tiger socks for my other nephew. I need a baby hat to go with the baby mittens for a neighbor who's expecting. And I have to knit at least one hat out of these Lopi scraps for charity.
Then there's the ends. I've got to weave in the ends on the crazy continental. I'm dying to wear it, but now that the knitting and the exciting finishing are complete, I'm procrastinating. I just have to wear it this week though, so look for the finished pic to be coming soon!
And once all that's done, I'm allowing myself to start thinking about this.

Hi I am trying to learn how to turn a heel for stockings and also how to start mittens I can't seem to be able to join the wool to forn a circle.pictures would be great, thanks Albert. I love your work.
Hey Albert! As soon as I start my tiger socks, I'll post some pictures of joining the round for you. For now, check out Socks 101. It's a very good tutorial on socks. Good luck!
Oh Alison....I didn't notice a mention of the Dale baby fairisle project on your to-do list this morning. LOL Are you hanging in there?
The pic of what you are going to start...what is the green tweed yarn?
Hi Teresa! I'm not starting anything new. That would be bad. I'm not thinking about anything new either. That would be bad. But if I were it would be Tahki Windsor Tweeds, which I got at our yarn swap a couple weeks ago. And I found some fabulous Manos to go with it. But, I really have no idea what you're talking about!
Oh no! I must be hearing those voices again...the ones that make me think I have the power to forsee the knitting futures of all my knit friends.
:)
The green tweed looks like something in my stash - Ballybrae - don't know if that the name of the yarn or the company who made it...I think it's discontinued...it's been in my stash for a good little while.
Re: Teresa's comment on 11/20/02 about Ballybrae. I'll bet the yarn is Brunswick Ballybrae, which came in several weights and many tweedy shades. It was an unscoured virgin wool yarn rich in lanolin, and I practically filled my station wagon with it some 12 or 14 years ago when I found a going-out-of-business knit shop. Sadly, I have no more of it.
