it's about time

The tiger socks are done and will be delivered today to my neighbor along with the flowery hat and mittens set for her kids for Hannukah. Just under the wire. Whew! Now I've got to pick up the rest of that Opal skein and see if I can squeeze a pair each of baby mittens and baby socks out of it for my little nephew for Christmas. These will have to be sent to Germany no later than next week, so I've got to get cracking if I'm gonna make it.

Oh, and I can tell you right now that I will be breaking down later and going to the yarn store. I can feel it coming.

I love those socks! I've never made a pair of socks in my life - maybe this can be my next fixation, I think I'm moving out of my Rowan Biggy print and Big Wool phase...

So, are you shopping for anything in particular? the socks are cute.

Hi Kerrie! You should give socks a try - they're fun and oh so comfy. As for me, after all my tiny projects on tiny needles I think I'm ready to move in your (Biggy) direction.

The socks are so cute!

Thanks for the nice post about my felted bag. It took 6 skeins of Kureyon. I used a Classic Elite pattern.

Do you go to the yarn store with your sons?

Posted by: melissa at December 6, 2002 6:40 AM

Hi Melissa! When I know what I'm looking for, I do bring the boys. The owner of my LYS knows me and is very nice about the boys being there. They stay in their stroller and look at the owner's little doggie. She also has a few baby board books there that they can look at. But if I need to browse then I wait until they are napping. Hubby works at home, so I can leave the house when they are sleeping. I'm pretty lucky!

Love the little tiger socks. I wondered what size needle do you use? I have some of that yarn, and would like to make my grandson a pair.

thanks.

Hello Janet! The needles I used were sized 2.5mm (like a US 1 1/2, I guess). They're the same needles I generally use for Regia sock yarn.
