thumb to come

Well, I made a thumb gusset at least! I went ahead and finished the first mitten (except for the thumb, of course) and cast on for the second. I want to have them looking almost all done so I can't back out and leave them unfinished. I'm using Ann Budd's The Knitter's Handy Book of Patterns again. I really like this book! Although the patterns are basic, they are really nice looking. And the charts are so easy to follow. What a great resource. Put it on your wishlist today! I think I'll go add some thumbs to mine....

Alison, I don't know if the colors are true but that is absolutely gorgeous yarn!

The mittens look like a great way to make use of leftover Noro Kureyon. Good luck with the thumbs. You will do fine.

I have this book and really like it too. Having the basic pattern in all sizes and gauges is GREAT!

The Noro is beautiful! What color number?

I've used that mitten pattern a couple of times and it's great being able to use different weight yarns using the charts. Your mittens look gorgeous!

Gee thanks everyone for your comments and encouragement! The yarn is Noro Kureyon, of course, color 36 (two leftover skeins from last year's new year's sweater plus one new skein). These mittens will go with the hat that I made a couple of weeks ago.

Ooh, pretty colors!

I had to come over to see yours :) Very pretty! My own mitts are Kureyon, with a peekaboo slit for my fingers to pop out (courtesy of Sarah Bradberry...)
