out with the new and in with the old
Happy New Year, everyone!!
My new year's goal was to finish up all my recent projects so that I can now get back to the older projects I've still got on the needles. And the results...
Newly completed: - my blue hat: Finished the quick little hat for myself in a jiffy and I love it. Lookie! The yarn is so soft and it feels so warm and snuggly on. I've named this project 'my blue hat' in honor of Becky (my blue house), who managed to find me what were practically the last skeins in all of France of this now discontinued color! Yea for Becky!
- mutssjaals: I finished weaving in the ends over the last few days. Obligatory cute pictures:

Old, but not forgotten: - native, now in progress since Spring 2002. My mother is getting anxious to wear this and I'm excited to see what leftovers I might have of the Rowan Handknit DK Cotton.
- elizabeth III, in progress since Fall 2001. I have reknit the front and back (again!) and still need to rip out the sleeves, reknit them, sew it all up again, and pray!
- dale bug sweaters, in progress since Fall 2002. I was doing well on the first of these when Christmas knitting interrupted me. I'm looking forward to getting back to these and to try out the steeking with my new sewing machine.
Wishing you all a wonderful new year filled with many successful projects!

Happy New Year and congratulations on the completion of the mutssjaals as well as your hat. Look forward to following your projects in 2003.
Wow! I'm honored! And that blue hat is, in a word, gorgeous. I so love your mutssjaals, too. What lovely knitting!
Happy New Year, Alison, and best wishes to you and yours for year full of all the good things you deserve. Most importantly, thanks for making my year in 2002 special, and for keeping a website that brings me enjoyment every day :-)
Happy New Year, Alison! I don't think we've "met" but I'm also a mom of twin boys, they'll be 8 years old in February! I now have 4 boys, the younger 2 are 5 and 18 months old... I tell you, starting with twins made the younger 2 like vacation babiesm, even the first few months!
I admire how much knitting you've done for your boys, in additon to other knitters! I wasn't able to get that much done, and kind of chickened out on making 2 of everything, even if they're 2 of everything different for my guys! I did manage to make a pair of jackets (which I'll photograph for my blog) for them that they wore as toddlers...I'm a slow knitter, sooooo... (yeah yeah, excuses, excuses!)
I've just about finished a pullover for my youngest that was MEANT to be for the twins, but I never got around to finishing one, nevermind starting a 2nd! That one is already in my blog & I'm just trying to decide what to do about buttons for the side...probably will get their dad to make buttons in the wood shop for it...
BTW your boys' lederhosen gave me an idea for what to do with the pant bottom of a knitted allover outfit I started when I was pregnant with my twins... I'll probably knit a bib & inkle weave the straps & my youngest should be able to wear it! :)
Alison, I hope you don't mind, but I threw up an detour on the fiber tour to a couple more local knitting shops. It doesn't come close to measuring up, but you got me all excited and I needed to share.
Those boys are too adorable!
so cute! definitely worth weaving in all those ends, hm?
(I'm v curious to hear how that Cascade 220 wears, too. I love how soft it is, but it's pilled like anything when I've used it.)
thanks for being such a good read -- looking forward to reading all about your knitting adventures in the new year!
Hello everyone! Thanks for the New Year's wishes. Right back at ya! And hanks for the fantastic fiber detour Amy. I'll jump on over to your site and write some comments there. And hello to fellow twin-mom, Jessica! I'll be reading your blog to see how you manage with all those boys.
