finished!

Hotties are all done. I love the colors! They remind me of berries. They shoud be on their way to my great aunts next week. I hear that it's actually been pretty cold in Texas where they live, so maybe they can use them to stay a little warmer. You know, Texas heating can be a little like New England air conditioning: eleven months out of the year it's the most useless thing in the house, and in that twelfth month, it's just weak. Very berry hotties to the rescue!

They look great. I am a big fan of hot water bottles. I think I will have to try the pattern!

Hi, I do my steeks at the neck the following way. It is sort of a second kind of steeks described in Alice Starmore's book. I cast off the amount of stitches first cast off for the neck - one in your case. Then I go on knitting in the round and cast off 1 st at each end of the neck by knitting them together. So, you have cast on your first stitch, then you continue in the round to the neck, slip one stitch, knit one and put the slipped over, then I wind the yarn about 8 times around the needle, knit two together at the other end of the neck and continue in the round. When I reach the neck againg, I do the same, only before winding around the yarn, I slip that wound in the previous from the needle. You go on until you have finished, do a 3 needle bind off for the shoulders. Then cut the wound yarn and work the end in. I do this because I am never sure, whether my sewing machine works or not, so sewing a curve feels too dangerous for me. I will try the normal arm steek on the neck with my next fairisle.

They're so cute ! It makes me want to buy a hot water bottle ("bouillotte" in french, which is shorter to write) just to knit hotties too...

How Cute! I want a hot water bottle, even though I don't need one (the whole Texas thing). My mom brought some home from Ireland with fuzzy covers for my siblings because their house is often cold, our heater works well though. Too bad. hehe.

Just looking through the archives for what pattern the hotties are. I love the way you have your archives organized by date, subject, and project. Cool!
