other leftovers

Hello, I'm almost four skeins worth of lovely Cascade 220 left over from the boys' mutssjaals. What shall I be? A matching mommy mutssjaal? Maybe some neato sideways gloves and a coordinating hat? How 'bout a fun purse. I've heard that Cascade 220 felts up real nice (thanks to Rob!), so what about a Suki bag? Or fuzzy feet for the whole family? Any other ideas?

i am all about that Suki bag! and i even SECRETLY disobeyed my yarn buying prohibition and bought the stuff for it! so bad!! then again, i also think those sideway gloves have a very cool look to them....

I think the Suki bag would be great. You could use it to keep your current project in... Not sure about the matching mummy mutssjaal!!

I have heard over and over again that Cascade 220 is The One for felting. I have never knit with the yarn (or seen it in real life!). I would do a felting project. Fuzzy Feet is great fun but it looks like you have enough for a chic stripey (sp?) bag.

I vote for making the Suki too! I think the colors would blend really nicely. :) I too, have heard that Cascade 200 is the best wool to felt.

As much as I think those gloves are fun to make, I don't think they are the best for yarn that felts easily. That's why I've switched to making them out of Plymouth Encore and superwash wool. I vote for Suki with a funky stripe pattern. (Give the gloves a try sometime though).

A mommy mutssjaal, because I say so.

(Okay, I'm kidding. I vote for a mommy mutssjaal solely based upon the fact that a picture of the three of you wearing matching mutssjaals would be too cute for words.)

Suki! Suki! Suki! Felting is fun. Cascade felts nicely just watch it closely because it felts quickly. Felted bags are a great way to use leftovers. And everyone will say "You made that?!?"

You know what I'm going to say ,don't you ?!
Suki,Suki,Suki.

Alison, I don't think I've commented to you before but I sure enjoy your blog. I can't believe how accomplished you are after knitting for just a few years--wow! Looks like you're taking sewing by storm, too. Just wanted to add a vote for Suki -- I used it for mine (you can see it in the knitty gallery) and concur that Rob is right to champion it. Easy to knit and great to felt!

Alison....Whatever you do with that beautiful yarn, the cascade 220 is GREAT for felting! I'm hooked! Those blues would make great stripes!

Thanks everyone for your input. I don't have enough yarn here to do the big Suki bag, but I could probably size down the pattern a bit. Kathy, or others who have made Suki, any thoughts about how much smaller I could make it? Since it's going to be felted, would it be better to shorten it or to make it narrower?
