knit-along news

Stopped by Knitsmiths yesterday and got to see Johanna's finished Smooch. She looks great! Johanna managed to shorten the neck a bit so that it isn't too plunging. I think many of us will be asking her for the details on that so we can do the same. Still, I think there must be something about this top that gets you in the mood to make sexy poses. And have you seen Jen's? You MUST check it out! I've ordered new yarn for mine and will restart it as soon as it arrives.

I spent Saturday at the Granite State Knit in and in addition to learning a few things here and there, I got a lot of knitting done. In fact, I finished a whole sleeve of the Becky sweater!

Hi Alison--the sleeve looks great and I love the stripes! Did you knit the bottom part circularly?

It's definitely a feel-good top! Johanna's looks fantastic. I love the colour combination for the Becky sweater - it seems to be racing along!

holy cow - you are just speeding along! :)

Oh shoot. I missed the Johanna modeling shoot. Shoot. I can just hear the giggles. It looks awesome, Johanna! WooHoo! Gorgeous sleeve, too. The productivity goddesses are definitely shining over here. :)

Hey, there are stripes at the wrists. Cool! Now, there's a good reason to make the sleeves long.

Yeah, the stripes were a nice surprise. You don't really see them in the catalog picture. I didn't think to do the sleeves in the round. I'm not a big fan of using dpns for sleeves, so seaming is fine with me. And compared to Pagan, there aren't too many ends to weave in at all.

This sweater is just flying off the needles. It wants to be knit - it wants to be worn. So be ready for tons of progress this week!

Hi, Alison! Thanks for all your help the other day! I'm trying to start a blog today, but after the fifth try, I'm ready to give up. Someone shoot me, please!

Johanna! You go girl! I can't believe you have it done already! It looks great on you!
Oh, Hi alison! thank you for the offer of being a tank girl. I accept the post of OTHER! :)
I'm just about rubbing my knitting needles together in anticipation!

The finished Smooches are so hot and Johannas neckline is modified? It still is very sexy. My decreases are as written, I found you have to be careful not to stretch the slipstitch on: sl1, K1, psso (or the loop just gets gigantic and will look different than the other side). I think I will go for a plunging neckline, hussy that I am... Happy smooching when your ASC arrives, Alison.

Love Smooch so much that I just have to join you girls!!! I bought the yarn and pattern for it today and will blog about it tomorrow :) Pagan will be arriving shortly and I'll start on that one too! I'm so glad I found you and the knit-alongs!! too much fun! I'd love it if you could email me personally ... I have a couple of questions for you :) Thanks so much!

Wow, you're rockin' on the Phildar striped sweater! Those sleeves are long, too. I can't wait to see the final product!

OK you Smoochers -- you got me! I'm just starting my Smooch and would like to join your knitalong. What do I need to do?
