I am fluffa!

My wannabe sweater is done! And I love it. Thanks so much to Carolyn for cooking up the knit-along idea and, of course, Becky for being the inspiration. I really pushed myself to improve my skills on this sweater (what a wannabe!). I finally figured out the tubular cast on and, let me tell you, there's no going back! I was very careful about watching my tension so I could produce those nice straight lines of stitches. And I really like the new little decreases I learned and used on the sleeves. Although I substituted a very different yarn, I think the cotton glace turned out quite well. I like the fit and feel of it and I certainly enjoyed working with it. I'm so happy that this old stash-dweller came to such a good end. Official verdict from my husband, "wow, you're really improving." Thanks hun (and thanks again Becky)!

And now the obligatory dancing photo.

The Becky sweater is wonderful! It looks great on you! Just like it was MADE for you! oh, yes, it was. well, it fits perfect! And how did I not know about the obligatory dancing photo? Is this a blog rule that I have somehow missed?? Hmmm...I'll have to read the handbook again! :)

You dancin' fool! You look positively Becky-ish. But wait! You're supposed to be headless! *teehee* The sweater looks perfect. Goodness, wasn't it only a week ago you were sippin' whine while knitting this up? Fast-fingered Alison is what I'm now calling you. Awesome job, Lady Blue.

Great colors and cute pics! Of course I prefer the dancing one! ;)

That sweater is really nice. I'm not usually drawn to color block sweaters, but the use of color is this one is very clever. Nice job improving your techiques!

Have to add my two-cents. Looks great!!!!

Posted by: mkaye at June 16, 2003 1:19 PM

Thanks everyone! Since it was still cool out today, I got to wear the wannabe sweater all day. I love wearing my knits. Carolyn, the new decreases are something I learned last weekend at the Knit-In and aren't in the pattern. I wrote about them in Tuesday's post. So don't worry, the pattern is smooth going.

Yes, I'm off to Smooch now!

AWESOME job on the WannaBe sweater! looks beautiful on you!!! hey, let me know about the Phildar mag ... whether or not you want it. I will go and buy it and send it to you, if you send me the money ... but I should buy it soon. It was $14.99 Canadian. Let me know.

OMG....I *LOVE* it!!! It is GORGEOUS, and gorgeous on you. Now I wanna do this sweater in Cotton Glace, like you. You rock!

(Dance, Alison, dance! :-))

Oh yeah, I do a lot of dancing around here. Can you tell that most of it is to 'Dora the Explorer'?! It makes a good just-finished-my-knitting-project dance: "I did it, I did it, I did it, hooray!"

That Wannabe sweater is cool!

i just got my Rebecca #23 & ASC booklet in the mail today from my not so local yarn shop... I'm almost definitely going to do Smooch, in a yarn combo that I had in my stash, just need to swatch to determine which needles to use...I'm going to try knitting it in the round.. it doesn't look too hard to do that... which cast on did you use for this pattern?

great work allison! your sweater turned out very pretty! and thanks for the dancing photo too.

Posted by: melissa at June 17, 2003 7:43 PM

BTW, the Wannabe sweater is GORGEOUS... i couldn't comment on it because we were having a problem with the computer resolution & all graphics looked fuzzy...it's fixed now! Keep dancin'! :)
