white out
Thanks to the long drive out to Webs on Saturday and some successful knitting at Knitsmiths on Sunday, tank girl 6, or smooch 2 depending how you're counting at home, is taking shape. I'm just below the start of the armholes and neck on the front and am thinking that this tank had better become interesting real fast otherwise it'll be a real dud. I've gotta find something else to punch it up. Don't know what yet, but I'll let you know when I've figured it out. I guess I could have planned this tank more before I started it. Oops.
In addition to not really knowing what to do next on this project, I'm also beginning to sense a sort of general knitting ennui coming over me. Too much of the same thing, I fear. It may soon be time for a big change. Tank girl may be getting restless, but she is always excited to see finished tanks from her knitalong buddies! And yesterday brought two new finished smooches. Hooray!

It won't be a dud at all, Alison! My favorite look is a plain white top. Very classic, very cool. Find some kicky new pants to wear with it. Summer clothing is on sale right now, too. Don't worry, you're just going through a phase. Can't wait to see where you end up. I haven't seen you do any aran work. Maybe that's next? Next time you're in a used book store, look for old knitting books. Surprisingly, there's quite a bit of inspiration hanging around in the piles.
I'm with Kerstin. Cool, clean and classic, that's what Smooch2 is! You'll look great, girl!
Are you working your Smooch in the round or in 2 pieces? If you're doing it in 2 pieces, maybe you might want to rip back a little & do some intarsia OR just do some intarsia where you're at or something? THAT said, I agree with the others that plain white can be pretty snazzy & maybe watch a movie or something & let your hands do the mindless knitting?
My Smooch is going slowly, I'm at the mostly plain knitting section in the "middle" and am ready to start increasing toward the armholes... since i'm working the back & front simultaneously, maybe it doesn't seem to go as quickly...
My yarn order from Elann came rather quickly: I wanted to swatch it yesterday, but need to free another needle first...
maybe duplicate stitch on a couple spring-y flowers? like kerstin did to the center of her smooch? b/c duplicate stitch you could easily remove them later if you got sick of them! or change them to new ones every year! :)
and obviously wouldn't have to be flowers. could be a random design. or trucks. or bugs. :)
