birthday girl

Thanks to all those who sent birthday wishes. Sharing a birthday with the Declaration of Independence is a good cure for self-importance. But, with the help of hubby, I managed to treat myself to a relaxing and special day. I even received a few nifty, knitty gifties.

Hubby got me the tiny knitty tee, which I totally love. What fun! And I finished up my simply smooch tee, as a gift to myself. Nice and plain. Perfect for a hot day, watching the boys play by the fountain in the park.

And perhaps best of all, our landlord installed the air conditioner, making knitting during the hottest days possible again!

Happy belated birthday Alison. Congrats on the air conditioner!

I'm glad you had an awesome day! I knew that white Smooch would make you happy. You MUST wear it on Sunday, ok? Keep cool, stay out of school, swim in the pool, dance like a fool . . .

New Smooch is loverly! It looks like you have tweeked the fit, or did you make a smaller size? Either way, wear it with much pride.

Happy belated birthday! I didn't read comments on the weekend, although I did admire your #1 tank. And now the white Smooch -- tres chic! I can't believe you've knit two (and a half!) of these and I've yet to finish my first half. It's coming, though.

Love your white Smooch! I'm just starting my front and was wondering how to make the front neck so it is not so low. I know others were having the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks,
Kimmer

Nice tank. But the best pic was of the INSTALLED A/C.

Fantastic fit on Smooch Mark II. Did you knit a smaller size?

Re the new Smooch. I found that I just didn't like the Cotton-Ease as much when knit up at the same gauge as the all seasons cotton. I wanted to knit it tighter! I knew I had some wiggle room in the first Smooch tank and figured if I knit the second with the same numbers at this tighter gauge, I could cut out that ease and have a snugger fit. And voila! It's fun to wear (you missed it yesterday at Knitsmiths, Kerstin!).

Kimmer, the details of the changes I made to my first Smooch are in my post from June 24th.
