birthday booty

The boys had a great birthday, complete with balloons and a fire engine cake! I hate to say it, but the fire dogs were the yummiest part.

No new knitty gifts for the boys this birthday, but they did wear their lederhosen that I knit for them last year. And the mailman brought the yarn I need to make their pipsqueak sweaters. Yay!

In other birthday news, some belated but awesome presents arrived for me, including Vintage Knits, Burda and Ottobre magazines, and lots of fabric for sewing projects.

Birthdays are good.

Such a fantastic cake!! Lucky boys!!
Vintage Knits is one of the books on my wish list as well. I should just go to Booksmiths and buy it while I am at knitsmiths, but I somehow forget to do that. Looking forward to seeing your sewing progress as well.

Great Birthday! Great Booty! Your new fabric reminds me of the cuties I used to make for my little girl and boy (now 22 and 18)...sigh! Enjoy!!

Awesome cake! Although, I may have found eating the adorable puppies slightly traumatic. I'm sure I could have overcome it though. ;)

Mmmmm...love the Vintage Knits :) Great book, though I do have a bone to pick with their very small sizing. I'm a large in it, and usually a small medium elsewhere, not that I mind being called a large, I just know many women who would love these designs and have to do massive calculations just to get things rolling due to the sizing.

Happy Birthday to the boys & you & their dad! Wonderful cake! Did you make it or get it from a bakery?

I also have Vintage Knits, I got I with the Crafters choice book club subscription...

I love the Vintage knits too, but agree with Amber about the small sizing. I'm currently knitting the cardigan jacket (with pockets, but I'm not doing pockets)in a size large. I've been a small all my life but I'm on the busty side for being small boned. The book is so fun to look through!

Oh, those boys are so cute!
I keep going back to the bookstore to buy Vintage Knits, but I keep coming out without it! What do you think you'll try first? :)

That is one CUTE cake. I bet they loved it!

I've wanted the Vintage Knits book for a long time. There are like five or six patterns I'd love to make from it. But I'm all about using stash up at the moment. And since I do have some linen drape in the stash basket, that makes this lace top a real possibility!

Oh and thanks for the warning about the sizing!
