ribby update: week two

One front panel done and also looking very, very narrow. But the ribbing widens easily to the right size without looking too stretched out, so I'm still feeling like this will fit after washing and blocking. The pieces actually knit up really fast. I can see how you can get spoiled working at this gauge (3 1/2 st./in. - sweet!).

Ribby reckoning:
completed: one sleeve and one front panel (both to armhole begin)
skeins used: 3
skeins remaining: 10

Next week: the other front panel? the other sleeve? I'm undecided.

Do I sense the tiniest bit of fit anxiety? Don't worry....it will be perfect. You can block out that rib to whatever size you want.

Hello Alison..love your blog and your beautiful creations. Could you advise where I might order the Evasion catalog from Phildar? Does it come with English translations? Thanks alot!

Teresa, the current phildar books are available directly from Phildar at www.phildar.fr. The website is in french, but you should be able to make your way through to order a catalog (go to "Les Collections - Fil a tricoter, then click on the one you want and "Commande ce catalogue"). You can order with a Visa/MC and they'll send it to you for about 8 Euros (including shipping). If you need a translation, you can contact Becky at www.skinnyrabbit.com. She does Phildar translations for a small fee. She has contact info listed at the bottom of her page. Catalogs with english translations can be found in Canada I believe (I've seen a few for sale at www.knitntyme.com), but I don't think that every book is available.

Thinking about the tiny tank? Me too!!

Wow! You are rolling on that ribby cardi. I envy your speed with fabby results. And next week? Hmm...I know what I'm thinkin':

T.I.N.Y. T.A.N.K.

P.S. Every time I do a garment with a load of ribbing, I have to remind myself that it looks really small while on the needles but that blocking it will make it right. Still, I tend to worry! As Claudia says, it will block out.

Thanks Claudia and Becky for your support re the ribbing. These pieces really do look shockingly narrow. In my head I'm sure they'll block out to size, but looking at them it's hard to believe it!
