updates: ribby and otherwise

Only had time this week to start the back of the ribby cardie. Thus, the ribby reckoning remains unchanged. Next week: the finished back, barring the discovery of other fabulous and irresistible tanks!

Speaking of irresistible tanks, I'm happy to announce that the back of the tiny tank has passed the stretch test and come out a perfect 41 body-hugging centimeters. I'm thinking I might like it a little longer though. I'm going to go ahead, make the front, sew it all up, slip it on, and if I still really think it's too short, I'll cut off the cast on edge and add an inch of ribbing at the bottom. 'Cause I can!

Meanwhile in other knitalong news, MKaye has sent along pictures of her finished projects. Here she is dancing in her ChicKami and posing in her sophisticated Smooch tank. Great job! And one of the original tank girls, Stonering, has finished her Pagan tank. Check it out here!

I like your "'cause I can" comment! I know I almost never explore beyond the pattern I am knitting, first time I did something "bold" is with my Suki and Daypack bags.

Your tiny tank is such a lovely colorway, it will suit your very well! :)

Hi Alison,

love visiting your blog. I am bringing my daughter to Boston to start her freshman year at BU in about 3 weeks. We are hanging out in Beantown for a week so I am looking for some yarnstore scoop. Kerstin told me about one in Cambridge and Brookline. Seems like there was also one about one T-stop past Harvard Square as well? thanks deb

Gooooooooo Tiny Tanksters! [Claudia, Alison and Becky hi five and then jump up while doing splits in the air, cheerleader style! (Embarrassing confession: I was a cheerleader in highschool. Forgive me :-))]

Thanks for sharing those pictures of Mary Kaye! Mary Kaye, if you're reading this: You look mah-velous, dah-ling :-)

Maybe Deb could join Knitsmiths if she's in the area on a Sunday? (I'm doing my best at bringing the bloggers in, Alison. :))

For links and some info about local yarn stores, check out my fantastic fiber voyage in Boston report that I did at the beginning of the year. Deb, you're certainly welcome to join us at the Knitsmiths. There's a link to the location in the fantastic fiber voyage and we meet there from 4-7 Sunday afternoons!

oh Knit Sisters

That sounds like fun and especially since I will be missing my weekly ritual of observance at our LYS with "my people".

The virtual tour was great and I am getting homesick and excited simultaneously. Will keep in touch and hope to see you sunday august 31!!

I will try to bring some Armadillo fiber from the Lone star state!!!
