please don't feed the animals

The giranimals jacket. You thought maybe I was neglecting it? I guess I was a little. To be honest, I'd forgotten how to attach the collar with the backstitch. After a week of trying and ripping and doing something else, then trying and ripping again, I finally got it.

Now, the jacket is all sewn up, ends woven in, neck and buttons attached. Done! Hey, hey, not so fast. What about that giraffe pocket? Oh, yeah. Back into the finishing basket. One giraffe and about 40 bugs. It's a zoo in there!

Hooray for you, I LOVE this color combination. Don't let the bugs get you down....you're on a ROLL!

Where is the back stitch method shown? Book, online. Any help would be greatly appreciated and praises to your name would be sung !

I had put up those pic-tahs for you, dah-ling! Remember? :-)

The second giranimals looks GREAT. I can't wait to see your adorable boys wearing their matching jackets!

Hey Becky, thanks so much for posting the link again! I was just going to look it up for Chris. I did check it several times, but I still couldn't get my head around what I'd done exactly. Once I had a little 'aha!' moment, your pics confirmed that I was doing the right thing. Chris, check out Becky's pics and if you've got Katharina Buss' Big Book of Knitting, she also describes the technique there.

I just started the ladybug sweater a few days ago, am just getting to my first line of bugs (which coicides with this weeks assault by japanese ladybugs-pretty creepy). I am using the green, tomato red, orangle, yellow and blues colorways..It's fun to knit, but I am thinking of duplicate stitching the spots on the lady bugs...

How cool that you're working on the ladybug sweater too, Amysue! I think the duplicate stitch is probably a good idea. I think I decided to do three-color rows instead of duplicate stitch because in a strange way it seemed like less work. With the embroidery on the giranimals jackets, I'm looking to avoid more finishing-type work! Best of luck with it.
