I'm a filly, she's a filly, wouldn't you like to be a filly too?

We had a special Knitsmiths' holiday all night knit-a-thon over the weekend to support each other in finishing up those holiday knit-gifts. Since I was done with mine, I started sewing up the finally phildar sweater. Four hours later and I got to wear my new sweater home.

I noticed that I had about a skein of yarn left and Dava immediately whips out a hat pattern for bulky yarn. Oh yeah! The pattern said to knit until 6 1/2 yds. are left, then do decreases for the crown. So I wound up about 20 feet of leftover yarn into a tiny mini-skein so I would know when to stop. Isn't it adorable? I didn't end up having enough yarn for the hat, but if I could ever take a break from knitting, I'd love to roll up all my old leftovers like this. I could display them in a little basket and see all the cool yarns I've used in the past. I'm totally obssessed with this idea now. Somebody stop me!

Yippee, I'm finally an official Phildar filly. Carissa just joined the finished fillies list too, having completed the fall catalog's cover sweater. And wouldn't you know it, Silvia's already finished her second Phildar sweater - a bona fide Phildar phenomenon!

[Whistles loudly] What a luxurious sweater! Congratulations on getting it finished, and enjoy wearing throughout the winter. It is gorgeous and that color is so flattering on you! You need to do Fantasia more often, my dear.

Happy holidays to you and your family,
XOXO - Becky

P.S. Sign me up as a filly! I'm taking a Phildar sweater with me on the plane for flight knitting. I mentioned this sweater to you before but I'll remind you what it is via email. Hee!

P.P.S. (Because I just can't shut my trap today.) That's the way I save all my leftovers - wound into mini skeins, yarn labels wrapped around them and placed in ziploc bags grouped by gauge and yarn composition. Am I anal, or WHAT???

That sweater looks absolutely gorgeous Alison, so warm and snuggly. Quite the opposite of Silvia's Phildar Filly! I love the idea of having all your leftovers organised like that. Mine end up wound up and placed in a large bag. No ball bands for me, not that organised!

I'm going to turn the house upside down today looking for the back of Giboulees so hopefully I'll be a finished Phildar Filly by the new year.

Happy holidays to all of you, I hope you have a great time and that Santa brings the boys (and you!) everything that you wish for.

The color is gorgeous! And I love the leftover idea! Mine all reside in various ziploc bags in a big duffel! Eeks!

Your sweater is really pretty! I love the colors!! Also, I'm jealous that you are a finished Phildar Filly, and I haven't even begun my Phildar yet. I'm still stuck on translating the pattern. Bother!!

Merry Christmas!

Such a beautiful sweater, Alison -- congratulations on getting it all done! I promise pics of ribby soon, I'm assembling a little show-and-tell...

Happy Christmas!

LOVE the new sweater, it will be warm and cozy for those cool winter days. I saw the Phildar book a couple weeks ago at an out of town LYS, now I wish I had bought it (don't know when I'll be back again either). Oh well, I really don't need any new projects.

Such a nice color on you.

Can you recommend sources for Phildar yarn for wannabe fillies in the U.S.? I know about Breiweb and phildar.be, I know that Webs (www.yarn.com) sells one kind of Phildar yarn, and I know about http://www.knitntyme.com. It seems that Breiweb is the only place that sells all of the yarn and patterns for the three sweaters that have caught my eye. Unfortunately, I don't speak Dutch, so I can't tell if they sell the patterns with the yarn, and I'm worried that the patterns might be in Dutch.

Thank you.

The sweater looks fantastic. The colors are great on you. By the way I finished another present last night. Hopefully I will get another one done tonight! I'll be home with my sons tomorrow so I need to finish as much as I can tonight.
Wish me luck.

Happy holidays to you and your family.

Great sweater; the color really looks nice on you. Now that this sweater is done, what will your next phildar project be? I know there was another yarn color in your Phildar package. ;)

happy holidays to you and your family.

Yummy! How warm and toasty you look! That turned out soooo nicely, now I'm really jealous. I really wanted to get some Fantasia (great colorways!) but knew I'd never ever ever need a bulky sweater...should I move? Have a great Christmas!

The sweater looks great. What a gorgeous color.

I like the idea of the mini skeins for leftovers. I have no idea where all of mine are.

Happy Holidays.

Great looking sweater! Good job! Can you tell me where you purchase your Phildar yarn? I've looked on-line for Phildar Phil'Laine ... but I haven't been able to find any Phildar at all.

Regards,
Ruth
