yebie

Yebie is how my boys say yellow. Well, first B identifies everything yellow as orange so that I will say "noooo, that's not orange." Then he grins and says "yebie" like he was just holding out on me the whole time.

Chickie is knitting up wonderfully. I'm in the middle of the waist shaping on the back. This Peace Fleece yarn is a genuine pleasure to work with. It feels great in my hands and is really beautiful.

And it's yebie.

Luca mixes up orange and yellow too...he also does it with green and blue. And, he always gives me that grin when he corrects himself like he was just testing me. Chickie is a beautiful color. What are you making with it?

Yay for yebie Peace Fleece.

Yebie! Yeah baby....

What gauge are you getting with the Peace Fleece?

Thanks for talking about the Peace Fleece. I've been thinking about ordering some, but had no idea how "hard" or "soft" it was. have a real sensitivity problem with some wools so you mentioning how nice it feels in your hands is helpful.

And I'm not generally a "yebie" fan, but the Chickie is really pretty :)

Sharlyn, I'm making the Nevis cardigan from A Seasons Tale. I know you've got that book! ;0)

Claudia, I'm getting 4 st/in on US8s. A nice gauge that knits up quickly.

Robbyn, the Peace Fleece isn't scratchy like Shetland and other wools can be. Of course, it's not soft like angora or alpaca either. It has a sort of lanolin-y feel, if that makes sense. So you can tell that it's wool, but it doesn't scratch. They sell mini-skeins for a couple of dollars. Maybe you could get one of those to try it out. I really love it!

Oh, yebie and orange are my favorite colors! :-)
Hey, I finished my rip-along sweater! I am wearing it right now, it is so great. :-D

Oh! Yebie = Lello. (That's Liv's pronunciation. She has all of us pronouncing it that way. Yes. She rules.) That really is a gorgeous color, even more so in person. I'm sooo tempted to knit Accordion in moscow magic. It's pink, of course. How do your boys say "pink?" :)

I was wondering how the Peace Fleece Knit up...I love all the colors they have on their website...Can't wait to see the Yebie Chickie completed!

yebie chickie! heehee! :)

Ahh, just like my niece Grace. Everything is "peinks" with grin until you say "nooo", and she immediately spits out the right color!

That's a very pretty yebie, Alison! (What a catchy word...wanna bet I'll go around using it all the time now?)

Caroline's with Liv: "lello." Will look forward to seeing your yebie sweater evolve!

Ah, yellow. "Lellow" in the mind of my 2-year old niece means yellow, red, orange, green, blue, and all the other colour possibilities, as well as meaning crayon and pencil. I'm not usually a yellow fan but I do have to say that Chickie is looking oh-so-nice.

Can I be an extremely late joiner to the Becky Wanna-be Phildar knit-along? Technically, I'm not doing *that* sweater but it is a pullover with the same colours and stripey idea. Does that count? I've swatched(!) and even cast on (tubular rocks!) and knit for 2". Progress!! Woo!
