Finished the back of chickie...
I'm really excited about this one, hoping it'll be a cardigan that looks good on me. Am I the only one who's cardigan-conflicted?? I'm having second thoughts about the must have cardigan because it's really way too boxy for me. I'd already started fiddling with the cables that I didn't like and then I just knew that I'd want to add some sort of waist shaping. And now I'm thinking that even with those changes, the pattern could still be unflattering. But not my sweet yellow chickadee, which already has waist shaping and curve-enhancing shawl collar. So I must rethink the must have and will be sticking with this cardigan for now. Sorry, must-have-ers!

oooh - that looks lovely. I agree about the must have, that's the main reason that I didn't make it, love the pattern but dont think the style would be flattering on me.
Hey Tweety Bird! *teehee* The photo doesn't do the yarn justice. That yarn is soooooo pretty in person. Guess who just received a box of Moscow Magic? Oh yeah. It's a Peace Fleece Extravaganza. Go Chickadee!
Again, that colour is gorgeous. I'm with you on the Must Have - I do have the pattern (but not the yarn) and it does seem boxy. I'd lengthen and shape too but that much texture is what scares me. Sure it looks nice in the picture but I'm pretty small and I think it would be overpowering. Can't wait to see more progress on Chickie!
I just love love that color! It really is like buttah! I can't wait to see it on you! finish...finish....:)
Just testing the comments. My web host has been "upgrading" some things causing my blog to implode a few times. Seems to be working now, but let me know if you have problems.
Yup, I don't think that Must-Have Cardi is something I could wear well either. Looks fun to knit though! Maybe there's something to be said for that. I am generally not a cardi kind of gal. I look and feel much better in pullovers. Not sure why. Hmmmmm.....
Testing again. Sounds like the code causing the problem has been corrected. Again, let me know if you have a problem accessing the site. Thanks!
I wish I could wear that color, but even 'good' shades of yellow make me look sick. I also wish I could wear more shapely sweaters. I'd probably be better off in Must Have. Oh well, I'll have to make do with admiring your shapely yellow goodness.
Hummus among us...that color is making me hungry! De-lic-ious! You definitely need waist shaping, you're a trim gal! Show it off! There are quite a few cardy patterns out there, but you could just adjust the waist shaping and length to suit you on the must have, no?
Alison--that's gorgeous and I must say that peace fleece looks even better knitted up (and I LOVED it in the skein).
The Must Have is a little boxy. I'm thinking I will fiddle with the moss stitch side panels and make the sweater with a slight a-line shaping.
You are wise to not bother, I think. I'm six feet tall, and every sweater I knit for years was always "boxy", that is, too short on me. (oh darn, should have bought more yarn, I'd say) That was fine until I had a child, and now boxy leaves me uh, "overexposed". That's why I like trunk shows so that you can try on the sweaters before you put in the enormous time and effort to make them. But how many of those are there? I loved Banff, but boy is that a sweater I wouldn't be caught dead in.
In my search for that perfect, Holy Grail of cardigans, I have found that shaping is better. Good luck with Chickadee, I hope you have found it.
oooooh. I must knit this! Must! And I've been itching to use peace fleece too...Darn Rowan and their expensive "but I only want one" pattern books!
