sugar 'n cream and everything nice
And that's what dishcloths are made of.
Melissa recently made some afghan squares with some left over Kitchen Cotton, using Mason-Dixon Kay's log cabin design. I'm so swiping that idea! I'd wanted to make some of the little flower washcloths from Weekend Knitting for my great aunts. Yes, the aunts I made the hotties for! But then I saw fellow Knitsmith Joann making one with double-pointed needles and five separate petals, it seemed a little 'fiddly-dee, not-for-me' (hers came out great by the way). So I thought, hey, I like the log cabin design, it looks fun, I don't mind picking up stitches as much as knitting separate little pieces and the Sugar n' Cream would make washcloths you could actually use (don't quite see the aunts washing up with beautiful chenille flowers). So, the boys and I went to ACMoore and picked out these colors.

And now I can join another knitalong!

And speaking of nice knitalongs, I've already received a nice comment and a fun little e-card from my Secret Knitting Pal. What a great program that Sandy set up! The boys enjoyed the little animated card too. So thanks to my secret pal out there, whoever you are!

Glad you've joined the dishcloth knit-a-long. I bought some chenille to make the infamous flower dishcloth as well, but am also wondering if it is too fiddly. We shall see!
Love the colors of your dishcloths to be! :) Glad you got a surprise from your secret pal!

Great colors. You will be able to get probably around 10 or even more from your skeins (if you make 8x8 inches).
I bought some chenille, too. Haven't touched it yet. Love your colors.
I did start my spring, cotton knitting today. While searching the unmarked stash bucket (about 16 are written up in a notebook, this bucket contained the stuff I don't really care about) to get stuff together for a guild auction I found an abandoned UFO. At least 10 years old, I had the back and front done and was almost out of yarn. Begged on the web, found it in CT, and it ended up (one friend gave it to another) in my town and I just had to go pick it up. I have had it for about 4 years and re-started the sleeves today and have about 1 1/2 inches done.
If you weren't doing the spring knit-along, I would never have pulled this out to do. I really like the sweater, so a big Thanks to you.
