a girl can change her mind, right?

I know we're spring flinging, but there's snow out here and hubby's feet are cold. So yes, I'm knitting more big, bulky socks. I taught a sock class at my LYS recently, and it's got me knitting socks again. And I'm liking it. Plus, they're Peace Fleece. I couldn't resist. There's so much Peace Fleece around blogland these days (my chickie masala, Mary's grass roots, Sandy's zarya fog, Kerstin's moscow magic pink, Erica's samantha-katya pink...), I figured I needed more. For these socks I'm using negotiation grey (don't you just love these names?!). Check out the cool label that was on one of the skeins.

Mmmm, socks. I've been neglecting all my knitting of late (even Tang, my Becky Phildar sweater) but have been thinking I should cast on for some socks. Or maybe even finish the last four ribbing rounds on the cuff of my Regia Crazy one and cast on for the mate. Socks are such nice, relatively mindless little projects.

Oooh, I would love to try the Peace Fleece sometime....it really does look wonderful. Your DH is going to love those socks!

I am really going to have to check out some peace fleece. The names are very interesting. The socks are looking good. The sun is shining in CT today so maybe most of our snow will melt.

I have been trying to figure out what to make for the spring fling. I changed my mind on one yarn that I have as I found a pattern I like but really don't want to work on a patterned cardigan right now. So, I went through the patterns and stash and think I have it down to 2 or 3 or maybe all 3 of them. The old UFO is done and I actually like it.

How many stitches and what needles are you using for those socks? I have some great green Peace Fleece, but I had the hardest time getting the # of stitches right.

What a good wifey you are! :) Lucky hubby is he! And I love that cute label! Do you think it's an old one or a new one? I wonder.....

Hurry up! It will be warm soon. I promise. ;-)

Oh yeah, we have sun here too. I told my husband that these socks should be done just in time for the return of warm weather! ;0)

Stephanie, I'm using 40 stitches around on US7s. I always use the same Reynolds' pattern for my husband's bulky, warm socks. It's called "Ragg socks" and is written for Candide yarn at 4 st./in.

i have to get my hands on some of this peace fleece, so i will know what everyone is talking about. i am now on a quest for fleece.

I think I need to get some peace fleece to find out what the buzz is all about... it's EVERYWHERE! BTW, the socks look awesome!

Our husband's must be on the same wavelength... I got some Bergamo in this week and was about to start swatching for Salt Peanuts when my husband looked at me with big sad eyes and said "I thought you were going to make me another pair of socks..." Away went the Bergamo and out came the Bearfoot.

I'm beginning to feel the incredible pull of Peace Fleece as well... if only it were earlier in the winter...

Is the peace fleece softer after washing? I haven't tried it yet, but had heard that it felt really rough to knit with.

Your socks look great. I have been working on socks since Christmas for next Christmas. Never thought of using Peace Fleece, am going to try it!
I am going to get your pattern you named.
I don't have a spring fling project. Never seem to get to making anything for summer.
Thanks I enjoy your blog.

Oh yes, you all need to get some peace fleece! It is wonderful yarn. It's not soft like Cascade 220 or something like that, but it's not scratchy like Lopi, that's for sure! It really has a natural sort of feel and I love the smell. Don't know what it is, but I was so happy to pick up th peace fleece and use it again.

I really noticed a difference between the prewashed skein (with that label) and the other one I was using. The prewashed yarn was a little softer and made fuller stitches. The second sock has been feeling too thin in the unwashed yarn. If the label is correct, a good wash will even them out.
