sleeves raye and other knitalong updates

The first sleeve of my cardi raye is on the needles. Seems like a lot of us in the litte cardi raye along have been sleeving it recently. Ladies, show us your sleeves: Angela, Kimberly, Jenn. I know the rest of you want to knit this sweater now! (Check out the comments to this post if you need pattern and/or yarn info.)

In other knitalong news, you've got to see Karen's spring fling dresses, Leigh's spring fling top, Eklectika's spring fling fringe top, Julia's spring fling star sweater, Froggy's sweatpants, and Jen's sweatpants!

And did you see that Erica has started a "Kate-along" for a Phildar top? Now you can be Kate or Audrey. Which Hepburn-along are you?

I love knitalongs!

So, you going to try out the sparkle shit in the sleeves just to make sure???

Oh no, Audrey, there will be no more sparkle sh*t on this sweater. I have given my sparkle yarn to Kimberly (there's a link to her site and her cardi raye in progress above), who is a real sparkle girl! :)

The sparkle sh*t would have been in the whole light blue section at the bottom of the sleeves and I really felt that I could live without its scratchiness in the ribbing on my arms. Seeing that the sleeves were so sparkle-intensive helped me really make up my mind to leave them out.

Knitalongs ARE fun. Although my "official" knitalong project is waiting for my other spring-scarf-project to be finished.

Love the stripey cardi-raye!

Hi Alison, I have a confession to make, I've given in to Cardi Raye! You and the other knit-alongers have seduced me. I've been thinking about it since the pattern came out last year and I ordered the yarn last night from Nathalie at Breiweb. It was easy to use the website once I got a Dutch dictionary from the library. This cardi will be so perfect for Florida, I just love it. I think I'm going to stick with the sparkles unless I absolutely hate it when it arrives. Thanks for being such a good enabler! Happy spring from sunny Florida.

by the way, what kind of closing are you going to use? the hooks and eyes, or are you making a button band?
thanks,
Linda
