of mice and giraffes

Took the boys to Chuck E Cheese this week. No special occasion, I'm just that kind of mom. Okay, the boys have hit the terrible twos big time and Chuck E Cheese seemed like a small price to pay for a day full of smiles and free of fighting. The kiddie arcade games were just perfect for the boys. Since they have the attention span of gnats. We tried out every one, several at the same time even. It went pretty much like this: hop on, insert token, hop off five seconds later while ride is still going, hop on another, insert token, repeat.

Luckily, the "photo ride" snaps a picture of your little one early on in the ride, so we got a good shot of St's first seconds of interest and fascination.

B however was too quick for Chuck. "Got to get oooouuuuuuttttttt".

So much for the mouse. And on to the giraffe....

(If you're a friend of mine, are expecting a baby, and your last name is a color, stop reading now please.)

And in another what won't we do for our kids and other people's babies moment, I'm putting the last finishing touches on the giraffe stuffed animal. Man, it's a lot of work making a little baby toy. But just look at its cute little tail! So worth it.

Very cute ~ the boys and the giraffe! I've heard the kids outgrow Chuck E's. We haven't reached that point yet, but I'll let you know when we've passed that milestone. :)

I do remember a day at Ontario Place almost exactly like that. It made me nuts because I was all uptight about getting my moneys worth. The children, not so much.
Your kids look like they had a blast.

Oh, Chuck E Cheese- how I remember it! My oldest bro and I loved going there. We must've been a handful. ;-)
That giraffe is really cute. Great job on it!

Ah, the terrible twos. My little guy waited until 3 to start his (and lured me into thinking two wasn't so bad). Having two little guys makes it that much harder. Good luck with it, you're doing great.

That really is a cute giraffe tail. Good giraffe-y color!

Oh boy, the terrible twos. My son has been going through that in spades lately. I can't imagine what a handful two boys would be. My hat's off to you :) Cuuuute giraffe!

We love the chuckster. Cameron takes the best pictures on that car. Power Ranger Ninja shots...driving with his feet. Sounds like fun. I can't wait to see the whole giraffe.

We dont get Chuck E Cheese in the UK, looks like a fun place to hang out though! Cute giraffe..

I like the tail muchly: better than the complicated tail I devised for my first giraffe. I'm gonna borrow that technique for this next one.
The boys are so darling. That nanosecond attention span is universal, I think. At least among the curious and gifted. Future astronauts and Nobel laureates, I'd say.

Chuck E Cheese! My grandfather loved the pizza in that place so much the nickname we all gave him was "Chuck E".

The giraffe is great! It's one of the many toys on my wishlist of things I want to knit...
