port-a-projects

Knitting on the go. We've had so many lovely summer days and spent so much time on the playground recently, that all my projects are packed in little ziploc baggies ready for transport. I'm like some crazy knitting junkie with a two bag a day habit!

In the bag today, the r2 tank. Keeping on track for my goal to be wearing it instead of carrying it to the playground next week!

can't wait to see "port-a-projects" become "pret a porte"

I'm doing the same ziplock thang. As I'm running out the door, I grab a bag and go! Can you believe how cold it is today? Get sweaters on those boys!

I also have all my projects in ziplocks. It makes for very easy grabbing, and also good protection when golden retreivers in the dog park stick their face in your bag and slobber all over (yes, this happened to me recently).

Eeeewww, dog slobber. My knitting usually only subjected to the boys' leaky sippy cups and wet clothes from playing in the water fountain. The baggies are a real yarn saver. Plus, the boys haven't figured out how to work the zipper opening yet, so the yarn's safe from them too!

Hah, a two bag a day yarn habit. Then Knitsmiths are your support group? They not supposed to enable though...:)

Love that R2 tank yarn, is it like the Phildar Copacabana ribbon--kind of like thick paper towel strips?

I do this too. Then everyday when I leave the house I grab one or two. My problem is that I keep reusing the same bags. They are starting to look so sad and worn out with needles poking through them. The poor things. I also used Ziplocs to organize my circular needles.

Hey, I also do the same thing with the baggies! Too bad I can't fit my sewing machine in a baggie. Have you done any sewing lately?

I do the same thing! Last week I had Audrey in one, a partially-completed dishcloth in another, and another dishcloth to start in a third. I often knit on the bus going to and from work, plus my knitting travels with me when I go out of town, so the ziplocs are the way to go.

It also keeps my cats from shedding all over my WIPs, which is nice, too.

You are the most productive knitter/person I know!

Wow. I'm inspired! I've hit countless playgrounds in the last three years, and haven't done any knitting. I'm going to have to give the ziploc bag routine a try!
