letting the stripes fall as they may

Klaralund, front and back. Look, they don't match. (stay calm) And I'm just fine. (deep breath - in - out) Really. (twitch) I can do this.

It's going to look great! Just keep knitting.

Yay for non-matching stripes! ;-)

Way to go! it's not an imperfection it is an embellishment of the side seams!

I don't mean to argue, but they do indeed MATCH! They're not identical (like certain little boys), but they are matching. They're also lovely, so relax and enjoy.

they are gorgeous! I can't see how they could match actually, the stripe pattern is similar but not quite the same is it? Mightn't they look a bit wrong if you tried to get them as close a match as possible but they weren't identical? As they are you can enjoy the lovely nature of the yarn and there will be no question of it looking like you tried but didn't quite manage to get them matching. Was that comforting or did I just make things worse? um...

Good for you. I had every intention of doing that for mine, and well, I chickened out at the last minute. Now I regret it because even though the colour sequence is the same front and back, they don't quite match (which is worse than my anxiety over total non-matchiness).

I'm going to do my sleeves different though (and maybe reknit the back piece argh).

I gotta know, did you just randomly start a new ball, or did you try to maintain the stripe pattern and just started each piece at a different place?

You're my hero you know.

Good point, Silvia. They do match, as in go together, but they don't match up. I was worried about what Jo and Steph mentioned. I didn't want the striping to be close at all, otherwise it might look like I'd intended them to be identical, which is virtually impossible with this yarn. Steph, to keep the striping sequence in order, I grouped together skeins that started at roughly the same point and used them for a single piece, like a sleeve. Then I just went from one skein to the next with no worries. :)

The front and back look beautiful just the same! Even without matching(shutter, twitch...only kidding) ;-)

Pretty fraternal twins, behaving nicely. Not to introduce even more consternation into the mix, but which will be the front and which is the back?

Well look at this! I swing by and what do I find? Personal growth. Very nice.
