tuesday is knitalong day

I worked on the weasley sweater in the car ride to and from Rhinebeck. We drove through torrential rain and impossible fog on the way up and although it was pitch black, I kept knitting in order to keep me from thinking that we were going to be washed off the road at any moment. Anxiety makes for good knitting apparently. I finished the back!

It's so rectangular. It's like I'm making a sweater for Spongebob Squarepants "with love in every stitch."

Other activity in the Ron-along: Jenn has also finished the back of her sweater. Tami has made more progress on the back of her sweater. Erin's got her yarn and is ready to get started.

And I'm about a quarter of the way into Book Four, my favorite!

Looks nice! I finished my back too (have had a few detours on other projects as well). I'm envious you got to go to Rhinebeck...

Viva car knitting! (Knitting in the car is as fun as singing along [badly, in my case] to some fun and kitschy 80s tunes.) Congrats on your speedy completion of the back.

Well, I think I finally found some yarn I want to use. Have you heard of Silky Wool? It's cool. And MY favorite book is definitely #3.

Thanks, Becky. This thing is in a pretty small gauge and it's so oversized it's like making a small sweater for me. So I was worried that it would take forever. I'm relieved that it's going pretty quickly.

Laura, silky wool will be great! And I definitely agree that book three was very good. It was actually the first one I read (after seeing the first two movies). Three was so good in fact that it got me hooked. Three and Four are definitely tops on my list. Five got a little dark for me - life was a bit too bleak for a bit too long for dear Harry in that one. Can't wait for six!!

Can't wait to see your weasleys comeing togehter. I'd really love to make this project myself, but I definately have to finish a few things before I can think of any new projects. When I see the "tuesday is knitalong day" headline on your blog all the time I realize how quickly the weeks keep rushing by, and how little knitting I get done. I've been incredibly buzy lately, both at work and in my spare time. Last week I hosted a totally awsome knit café, big sucess, pics on my blog, and I'm teaching classes of domino knitting and bobbin lace. But now I've promised myself to have at least a little progress to rapport on my Banff before next tuesday!

Happy knitting :)
