tuesday is knitalong day
We have our first finished weasley sweaters! Signe finished hers last week, but she doesn't have a digital camera to share photos with us. Lucky for us Ann does. She finished hers just a few days ago and her little guy looks so cute in his "B" sweater. Awesome job, Ann!
Elsewhere in weasley world, Jenn is working on sleeves and has posted a picture of her beautiful finished "R". Also in intarsia mode is Tami, who is doing a terrific job on her "H". Eklectika has opted for duplicate stitch. She just started her weasley sweater and is already done with the front. She's using a different pattern for a larger gauged yarn. Smart girl! MA has one sleeve done and is on to the front (check out her other awesome projects in her Sunday PicSpam!). Amy Lu is getting started on the back. And Hayden reports that although she is still working on the back, she will get this sweater done for Christmas!
And me? I've been knitting and ripping socks all week and so only managed a start on my last weasley sleeve. I'm going to have to start seaming these up pretty soon. Maybe that's why I've slowed down. Heh, heh.

The boys still want to touch the sweaters each time I take a picture of a piece. Today B asked if the sleeve was going to get an "H". Awwww.
And last but not least, Helene's Banff is almost to the sewing stage. Helene, we should have an intercontinental sewing party!

Have been in more-knitting, less-blogging mode: I'm about halfway done with the second sleeve, then it's time for a seaming party. I hope to have a finished Weasley next week.
I finished the back of my Weasley and am working on the front today. Blocking question: What method is best? I am considering 1)Get it completely wet and block it out on a towel to air-dry, 2)Follow the instructions-pin it out then place a wet towel on top and iron it (won't this squash it?), or my favorite (quick) method 3) pin it out and steam it with my baby rowenta?
Or is it a horse a piece? (Wisconsinese for "the same, no method is better than the other")(grin)
what cute little baby hands.
Ooooooh, I can't wait to see these sweaters on your boys!
Amy Lu, I admire your desire to get the blocking right. Unless the yarn has some specific instructions, I just wet the pieces (or finished sweater) and lay flat to dry, using some pins to stop rolling and such, IF it seems necessary. But to me, it doesn't seem necessary that often. Hee, hee. ;0)
I can't wait either, Becky! But they're supposed to be for Christmas, so somehow we'll have to hold out a whole 'nother month!
I'm up for a sewing party! :) (Makes sewing sound fun!) Anything to get some finishing inspiration. My Banff is in great danger of drowning in pre-christmas projects. But your "Tuesday is knitalong day" posts helps keeping me going.
But first of all a friend and I are haveing a Rogue-party next sunday. Wearing our just finished Rogues, we're going to cast on for the next mini knitalong project; Thinking dress from Miss Bea's Rainy Day.

I can't wait. Knitting parties are the best!!
I'm thinking of making the HP sweaters for two boys, one is 1 year old and the other 3 years old...when I looked at the kits I got the impression it was adult sizes. How can I find just the pattern for the sweater and for a toddler size?
I would also like to make one for my son who is almost 2 years old.
