So far almost 120 pairs of socks have been made and sent off to pals. Incredible!!! I can't thank you all enough for doing such a great job coming through with wonderful socks for your pals.
Yes, my socks were crocheted! Aren't they pretty? The yarn is Knit Pick's Color Your Own sock yarn and it feels great. I love the color. Yes, "color your own" is meant to be dyed, but you see, I like me a good plain sock. I put that in my sock pal info and Andrea came through for me. It's not easy knitting socks for me! Thanks so much Andrea!! These socks are going to be well-worn, I can promise you!
Just a few more dozen socks to go and this sockapalooza tour will be o-vah! And once everyone's gotten their socks, I'd definitely be up for another go round. (No sign ups now, please. I'll let you know when I'm all set up to start another tour.) Until then, keep knitting those socks!

sockapalooza
ok, I'm not attemping to sign up, but only to say, I'm SO in for another sockapalooza!
Mine should be finished tonight and mailed tomorrow. I already received mine from Nona, they're lovely.
Mine are done but I need to take a picture of them first. I also need to wash the socks and pack them for their trip but Emma already knows that they will be mailed out by the end of the week.
And I am up for another round whenever.
Alison,
You are so generous with your blog and your time. Another go round with sockapalooza? What fun for all of us. I loved the links to everyone's socks. Introduced me to some fine blogs. Again, many thanks.

Christmas in March - what fun! While I did not participate, I've enjoyed seeing all the finished socks - tks Alison for coming up w/the idea and for encouraging us to become sock knitters!
I am so happy to hear that you're willing to do another round of Sockapalooza! I only started blog surfing about a month ago and have been very envious of all the sock fun everyone is having. I will definitely be signing up (when it's time to sign up) for the next round! Thanks you for doing this!!!
Louise
since you seem to be a sock goddess now i was wondering if you (or anyone else) knew of a good web site that would help me start to knit socks. i purchased the american red cross kit only to find that i read through the instructions and went '........!' not very good on my part. so if i could ask for help i'd appreciate it. thanks.
Thanks so much for organizing the sock swap, and for letting me swap too! (I'm excited to see what I get! :) ) I'm really glad you like your socks!
thanks so much for all of your organizing work - this was so much fun! :)
thanks SO MUCH for organizing this. it was a blast! i got my socks yesterday and they fit so well. i'll be posting a pic tomorrow, but i just wanted to share with you what fun it has been :)
I've been having so much fun looking at everyone's lovely socks (and bookmarking patterns right and left). Now that I've successfully made my very own first pair of socks I'm inspired to make more. Looking forward to the next round of Sockapalooza, so I can 'play' too!
Alison,
Thank you so much for organizing the sockapalooza. I just got an email and pictures from my pal thanking me for her socks. I was actually giddy! I received a beautiful pair of purple socks as well that look so good on my feet. I even have some knitting friends who want me to teach them to make socks. It's the new craze! This was so much fun and I am definately in for round 2. Thanks again!!!
Rhian finally admitted it was she who sent me her socks, so you can add her to the list of finishers :)
Alison, this was amazing! thanks for organizing it!
My finished socks from my pal came today. I've blogged it at: http://www.livejournal.com/users/linzq/145221.html
YAY!
I received my socks this weekend. They fit perfectly and I love them!!! Thank you Siri
Those socks are beautiful. I love how clean they look. Bless you for organizing this one and offering to do another. I'm mad at myself for missing this go-round.
I received an email from my secret pal telling me my socks are on their way. I am soooo excited. After so many socks are finished and have already ended up with their recipients I still have no idea which ones could be mine.
My Pal received her socks today! It took the PO a little longer than they promised so I was a bit worried but they came though. She loves them!
I received some wonderful broadripples from Lori... they made my week, not to mention brightening a grey London day. no pics as yet, but they're coming, I promise. I hope my pal's will get to her soon...
This has been so much fun - both the giving and the receiving. I'm definitely up for another one, when you're ready. Thanks so much for organising this.
Alison, You did an amazing job with this, your organizational skills just astound me!! Thank you so much for doing this AND being willing to do it again!!!! I'M IN!!!Thank you so much Alison.
PS- Helga, if you read this I'm your sock pal :)
Ok. so I did some strange stocks for DH... slippers really, but I did ribs, short row'd, turned the heal, etc. NOW: If one's doing argyles, how do you get the SINGLE stitches on the diagonal? Carry the thread? doublestitch/ embroided later? I've seen patterns that indicate the large diamonds are intarsia, but I cant wrap my mind around the little thin lines as intarsia.... Explanations or references would be MOST welcome.
First and foremost thanks to Alison for organizing this sock exchange! Though I've missed said deadline, I've finally weaved all the @#%*!!! ends!!! You'd think I'd be sick of looking at them b-u-u-t rather than sending them on their merry, I wanted to make a few last minute adjustments (just in case) before I block and send them on their way. So like some of the above posters they are ALMOST ready to go. Just a few more....
Lindsey, for starting sock knitting you HAVE to go to Teri's Socks 101 page:
http://www.royea.net/sockdemo1.html
Dana, I'm pretty sure that you do the diagonal lines in argyle with duplicate stitch. Of course the diamonds will have to be done with intarsia, which means the sock has to be knitted flat in that area. So you do the intarsia on the leg, join to do your heel/foot/toe in the round as usual, then go back and duplicate stitch on the diagonal lines.
I am so excited to hear that you are considering another round of sockapalooza. While I wasn't part of the exchange, I enjoyed reading about the process; from the selection of the yarn and pattern to the finished product. Additionally, it was great to be exposed to so many bloggers.
I forgot to add that because my socks are done, you can now mark Lynne as finished.
I've been out of town, but I just couldn't wait to get home and see if there were any socks waiting for me. There were, and they are incredible. Great colors and pattern and they fit well. Thank you so much, Helga. I put them on yesterday and haven't taken them off yet.
