The *best* time to go to Webs is during one of their tent sales. Hopefully they'll give you a little flyer about it while you're visiting today. The next tent sale is in May, the weekend after MS&W.

ooh, yeah, we should have a blogger get-together after the WEBS tent sale...of course, that's also getting close to MA sheep & wool.

I keep hearing about the yarn bus, and it sounds like such a blast! I want to check out WEBS, maybe I'll grab some local SNBers to trek up there together for a day of gal-pal yarny fun.

I dunno. On one hand that yarn bus sounds cool, on the other.... Maybe I'm just feeling too self conscious for my own good.

Maybe we need to do a Knitsmiths meetup for some NYC yarn shopping!

flying fingers is literally a half mile from my dad's house. i'd spent the summer there once, and my dad said 'i read a yarn store is opening'. i got so excited, and then they opened a week after i went home. very expensive, but wonderful stuff- and the owners are really friendly and helpful!

Your yarn excursion sounds like so much fun - more fun than I will have taking 5 ten year old boys to a PG movie this afternoon (if only I could figure out how to knit in the dark)!

oh boy... WEBS! the first time i went in there, i swear i had to sit in the reading section for a few minutes till my head stopped spinning. i come from a small town with a SMALL lys, there's no way i was prepared for what i saw there :) have a great time!

I saw the Yarn Bus written up in the New Yorker, too! I liked the closing sentence best, I think: 'As Braken prepared to pull away from Bloomingdale's, her first stop, she squinted in the rearview mirror and asked, in a cheerful voice, "Can you look and make sure my needles aren't caught in that tree?"'

What fun! Get some good stuff for us vicarious knitters :)

hilarious...we should get one to shuttle us all to knitsmiths on sundays...so perhaps if you buy more yarn today at webs, you'll have more "older yarn" to swap tomorrow?

2 skeins of "kool-ade" dyed yarn that i got at bizarre bazzaar (60 yards each and they don't match)

The yarn bus cracks me up. Not as much as it cracks non-knitters up (I think they are worried about our plan to take over the world), but it cracks me up.

Both Webs and the Sunday swap sound like tons of fun!! I want a shuttle from here to NYC (waaaah).

YEAH, I've heard that my sockapalooza socks made it safely to Stephannie (AND she likes them!), and since I've already worn my socks quite a lot (lovely warm) I guess the sockapalooza adventure is over for me. Thanks a lot for organizing this. It's been great fun!!

Stephanie, is the plan to take over the world off now?! Or are you just trying to keep it on the down low? Oh yeah, we're just silly ladies in our yarn buses, gathering and plot-, um purling. Right.
