Warning: this will be yet another post about my losing battle to keep the boys' blankies whole!
One morning last week, S comes to snuggle in bed with me, and this is what his blankie looks like. That'll wake you up pretty fast!
This one was easily fixed though. All those neat stitches stayed right where they were supposed to be (despite being dragged around from bedroom to bedroom) and I had merely to rework that cast off row. In order to strengthen some other danger zones, I wove in about a foot of extra yarn over some thin areas. I'm hoping this will keep us big-blankie-crisis-free for a while.
So if we're all lucky, it'll be another month or so before I have to write another one of these posts!!

Coming from a kid who still sleeps with her blankie every night - YOU ARE THE BEST MOM IN THE WORLD!!!!!!! Can you come fix my blankie too? ;-)
I think I'm probably lucky that Em has no attachment to blankies or stuffed animals. No worries about repairs for me!
You are such a good mommy! Reading this post makes me wonder where my childhood blankie is now....
Allison, what did you weave into those blankies when you were making them? They are the most loved blankies I've ever read about! Hope you'll get the final fix on them. The color is really nice.
Hope they hold up for a long time. The older they get, the tougher they get with their lovies.
You might want to crochet an edge on them which might hold things in a bit.
i'm thinking that it's never too early to teach the boys to knit...and how to repair knitted good...their young eyes are probably sharp enough to learn how to pic up stitches...
you're such a good mom !
and your kids love their blankies so much !
see you next month then ?! ;o)
I am still working on fixer-uppers. I *think* I'm done with Alicia but need to photographically document her. I'll report on progress in an upcoming post!
Now I am wishing I had knit my kid (15 months) a blankie. . . Do I still have time, or might he now have "blankie-attachment disorder?" I did knit him a pair of jungle-print socks which he seems rather ambivalent about. . .

It's beginning to sound like a lovely cat and mouse game. Boys drag their fav blankie around, gets it a little worn and run straight to mommy for some love and fixin...:)ur boys are so cute!
The never-ending blankie saga. They sure better appreciate all this :)
