It's now a month and a half after the official end of sockapalooza and we have several stragglers doing their best to finish up and a couple of non-finishers who haven't responded to my requests for updates. So, send in those updates if you could please! And let's also try a different approach. If you haven't gotten your socks yet, let me know. Let me know too if you've heard from your pal or not, so I'll know if there is a chance that you'll still be getting socks. If you haven't heard from your pal and they don't respond to my emails, I'll work out a "consolation prize" for you.
Once I get all these final sockers taken care of, we can talk sockapalooza summer tour!

sockapalooza
i have a pair of socks almost finished that i would be willing to gift...
I still haven't received my socks, but I believe April is working on them. I did get a postcard from her in March, so I haven't given up hope. :)
I'm here to help with donations if you need it!
I also havent received anything by now. I got an email the 30th march and she said she wanted to send it that day. I emailed her twice since then with no response.. Dont know what might be wrong
Bente
I'll donate ;0) if you need me
I've had a couple of emails from my pal saying they were taking longer than planned. Since mine just went out, I'm not too worried!
I have some sock yarn for donation if you still need some. I would hate to have sockapaloozers empty handed! Let me know.
I'll be happy to donated to a straglers pal - I've gone sock crazy - so I can happily send a pair off.
I got an update from my sock pal on 3/22. I told her not to stress out, and she said it would be a couple of weeks. I haven't heard anything since. I did say not to stress out though... :)
I've heard from my sock pal a few times with the latest update this week. She mentioned she was close to finishing the second sock and would be sending them off soon.
I can help with donations as well!
I heard from my sock pal last week and she is trying to get them done but has art exams coming up, so I'm waiting patiently and wishing her a lot of luck.....
My socks are also MIA. I got an email from my pal (via you) on 3/25, but haven't heard anything since.
I'm willing to crochet an extra pair, as long as they don't mind waiting a bit and getting wild colours from my stash... I need to cut back on my yarn purchases. :P (No, I haven't redone yours yet... sorry!)
Oh... I e-mailed my sender about my socks being too small, but haven't heard back. Should I e-mail again, or could you try contacting her? Thanks. :)
I have some sock yarn that I can donate to the cause. Just let me know!
My socks are MIA as well and I haven't heard from my sock pal at all. :(
I can donate sock yarn too. Or a pair of socks if someone is willing to wait a couple weeks for me to knit them up. Let me know.
I am here as well to help in either arena...sock yarn donation or a pair of knitted socks! We can't let our friends out there go sockless!!
Hey Alison -- my socks are done and I got a thank-you note from my sock buddy (whose web site is broken, poor thing). I am totally willing to donate yarn and/or socks. Lemme know!
I have sock yarn that I would like to donate.
I have a stash of sock yarn I'm happy to dig into!
I can definitely find some sock yarn if you want me to
I'm overjoyed at all of your responses to donate socks and sock yarn! How great that the generousity of the majority will be more than enough to make up for the foibles of a few. Thank you so much everyone!
We'll see where we are next week and then I'll send those of you willing to donate a name and address of a forgotten pal and we'll make it up to them.
Delighted to donate needed sock yarn. This was my first knitting exchange and I completely loved it. Thanks for all your hard work coordinating things Alison.
I would be happy to donate sock yarn or a simple pair of socks -- the socks that Bente sent me are so GORGEOUS that I am happy to help out.
I'd be more than happy to knit another pair of Sockapalooza socks for someone who did not receive a pair from their buddy.
I haven't received my socks yet either, but I'm not too worried, I've had regular emails from my pal, and she emailed me 23rd March to say she'd mailed them ... unless she's local, in which case they're lost in the post!!
dawn
I sent mine out today, fixed my website (sort of) and want to donate some sock yarn! Let me know!
I sent my sock pal socks, a week after the March 15th deadline. These socks did not have far to travel and now from what I am finding out as a few days ago from Alison, the socks never arrived. I have been wondering about them, since I have been reading my pals blog to see when the socks arrived and if she liked them. I am just sick over these socks being lost. I am waiting to hear back from Alison on what to do. These were really nice socks too! Made with Lorna Laces sock yarn.
I do have another pair made that I can send. Socks that I made with my own handspun. (I also spin my own yarns.) I am kind of at a loss of what to do now and waiting to hear back from Alison.
Also I was told my own socks were sent many, many weeks ago. I have not been too worried though since I had been told that they were being sent from somewhere far away. So, I figured from overseas.... possibly? What is up with the mail?
I have to say that all in all, we have had such great luck with this giant sock exchange. We've got fewer than 10 people still finishing and only three or four who suspect that the socks have gotten lost in transit. That's pretty amazing considering that we had 170 to start! Unfortunately, poor Sharon had the socks she sent go missing as well as those she was to receive! :0(
Again, I have to thank all of you who have offered to donate socks and yarn to those pals who are still waiting. I'll make a final list and send you names next week. And we'll have to send Sharon two substitute gifties! :)
I didn't participate in Sockapalooza as I knew I'd never be able to knit to the deadline! But I'd be thrilled to be able to send yarn to someone who was left sockless.
I would be happy to donate sock yarn to one who did not receive their socks. Just let me know.
