I spy with my little eye

COSI. A giant museum to entertain the boys for five hours!

A Tab! I haven't seen a Tab in like fifteen years.

Cool game bits. These are from Um Reifenbreite, 1992's German game of the year.

A crack. Not as uncommon a site in a gaming room as you'd like.

You can't be serious! Can these people not feel the ventilation on their butt?
What do the boys do while you're gaming?
You'll have to let us know what the best new game was.
Every time I'm pregnant, hubby and I have a gaming marathon, where we play the same game night after night, keeping track of scores to see who is the all time champion.
The first baby was battgammon (sp?), second and was third were Nertz (a game played with a regular deck of cards) and the last baby was Carcassone. We'll need a new game for the next one!

May I correct you? The name of the game is "Um Reifenbreite"
EI sounds like your I.
Happy vacations :)

Okay, not the worst case of crack I have seen, but please!!!! Didn't they learn the message of just say no to crack!!!! I like to show off my tattoo on my back side when I sit down but even I don't show crack. Quick, knit up some squares to hit the cracks! Cheap acrylic will do since they obviously don't care.

Posted by: Mia at April 14, 2005 10:31 AM

I'm focusing on the Tab (yum) and not the crack. Funny.

Posted by: claudia at April 14, 2005 10:38 AM

ew. Someone buy that man a belt.

Posted by: Steph at April 14, 2005 10:42 AM

ha ha... did he even notice the picture being taken?? The worse part is when that is blaring in your face how can you not. stop. staring.

Posted by: Kate at April 14, 2005 10:44 AM

YUMMMMM Tab. I didn;t know they still made it!

Ok the crack is cracking me up....how did you snap that picture?

and your boys are so cute!

Posted by: Jennifer at April 14, 2005 10:53 AM

o my. i thought crack like that could only be seen when plumbers came to fix a sink. yikes. listen to whitney houston - crack is WHACK.

where in the world did they find that TaB?

Posted by: joy at April 14, 2005 11:07 AM

What's inside Cosi? It looks fun, but I think that's just because of how they did the sign. Ok, did that person know you were photographing his/her butt and posting it online? Just kidding. Pretty funny!

Posted by: Vicki at April 14, 2005 11:08 AM

Wow that crack is bad. I can't believe you managed to get a pic of it! Sneaky Alison. I know a lot of undergrads here who are REALLY into German board games, so next time you come to New Haven... What do the boys do during the games?

Posted by: Lauren at April 14, 2005 11:13 AM

We still have Tab available in our cafe at work.

Posted by: monica at April 14, 2005 11:18 AM

too funny! how did you have the nerve to take that picture*giggle*

Posted by: cara at April 14, 2005 11:36 AM

Crack kills...

Posted by: Tracy at April 14, 2005 11:49 AM

Hahahahaa!!! Ew. What a great post. I hope you didn't have to sit across from that all day long! Sounds like you're all having a great time, though.

Posted by: Karma at April 14, 2005 11:49 AM

I remember going to COSI as a kid (I used to visit my grandma in Columbus every other summer)...I still have a time capsule that I made from a COSI kit like 1980 something. Maybe they still have them? Have fun in Columbus! (By the way, there is a cool knitting store somewhere in Dublin...)

Posted by: CrissyPo at April 14, 2005 11:56 AM

Oh my....that is halarious!

Posted by: carolyn at April 14, 2005 12:29 PM

OMG! I am totally ROTFLMAO at that last pic! That is SOOOOOOooooooooooooooo wrong! :)

Posted by: Jessica at April 14, 2005 12:50 PM

Ooh, I want that bicycling board game for Seth's birthday... I wonder how hard it would be to track one down in just one month minus two days.

Posted by: Daphne at April 14, 2005 12:57 PM

The pics are great. Now I have an actual photo to show my 4yo daughter what I mean by "plumber butt." ;) Hope you're having a great vacation!

Posted by: Katy at April 14, 2005 1:05 PM

Oh my gosh. This is so funny Alison! That picture so come with a warning label. ;)

Posted by: Wendy at April 14, 2005 1:07 PM

*choke* I took a huge bite of my lunch just as I scrolled down and caught a glimpse of that crack!

Posted by: Madalyn at April 14, 2005 1:12 PM

COSI! I lived in Cleveland growing up, and we went to COSI a few times. I've wondered if it was still there! I remember they had (have?) a special section for little kids, and my brother was young enough to go in there, but I was too old! How's THAT for unfair!!!! :-)

Posted by: Melanie at April 14, 2005 2:41 PM

Nice crack... looks like it's been wedged there for a while.

Posted by: Trina at April 14, 2005 2:51 PM

GASP! A little top crack exposure can be forgiven in trying circumstances (I imagine he'd been parked quite a while) but that guy is definitely giving us a glimpse into the land of middle crack...eewwwwww!

Posted by: Vicki at April 14, 2005 3:13 PM

Love tab, the crack is sad....and scary...getting heeby jeebies...must look away...is it pimply? GROSS!!

Posted by: Kathleen at April 14, 2005 4:02 PM

I've heard it called "butt cleavage" ... but that photo is just plain ol' CRACK. *still giggling*

Posted by: Carolyn B. at April 14, 2005 6:42 PM

*giggle*... *giggle*... *GUFFAW* Oh my!

Posted by: Eva at April 14, 2005 7:20 PM

Sorry folks for the shocking picture there! ;0) A fellow gamer spotted it and I had to share it with you all. It's a little blurry because I was laughing too hard to hold the camera still!

Um Reifenbreite (thanks for the correction, Sibylle, I know German, but my typing sucks!!), is out of print, but it's not the hardest game to find. Try eBay or any other gaming connections you might know. Note that it is a German game, so the instructions and some action cards are all German.

COSI (pronounced like co, as in co-dependent, and sci, which is for science), was great fun. The little kidspace is HUGE and is perfect for preschoolers. I would have liked to see the Titanic exhibit, but the boys weren't really up for it and it was their day, so we skipped it.

Tomorrow however is my day. Yarn stores here I come!

Posted by: alison at April 14, 2005 7:27 PM

While you are in Columbus, there is a great yarn store not too far away. It is called the Yarn Shop and while I am only an advanced beginner, I can spend hours looking at all the different yarns and patterns they have in that store. The woman that run the shop are extremely helpful as well.

Alison, did you get crack man to sign a release? hehe...Too funny!!!
We have Tab in the supermarket down here (Ft. Lauderdale) Let me know if you need a fix :)

Posted by: Debi at April 14, 2005 10:01 PM

Major g-r-o-s-s!!! Not the Tab, the other. Alison, please!!!

Posted by: Shirley at April 15, 2005 6:38 AM

You naughty girl! Thanks for taking us w/you on your vacation (I still remember your pics of Germany, which were a hoot)!

Posted by: leslie at April 15, 2005 9:50 AM

Love this post! Ahhhh - brings me back to the days when I lived in the mountains and lumberjack crack was the normal site at the local diner. They still sell TAB at this very diner in fact!
Thanks for a great laugh!

Posted by: kimberli at April 15, 2005 10:03 AM

COSI is such a sight for this girl's sore eyes. I lived in Columbus for 17 years and miss it like crazy!

Posted by: Jes at April 15, 2005 5:49 PM

*snort*

Knit that man a belt, already and SAY NO TO CRACK!

*giggle*
