sock stock soars

Retro rib socks all done. Shepherd Sport, China Blue, Retro Ribs: love it, love it, love it!

I love 'em so much, I had to have a BIG picture

And you wanna see my souvenir yarn from Columbus? Don't want to shock you, but it's sock yarn. More Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport to be exact.

I liked the colors and was intrigued by the name, "argyle". I'm really curious to see how this knits up.

Love those socks! Beautiful color! Where is the pattern from?! I have been looking for a new fun sock pattern for my second pair...

The pattern is Retro Rib Socks from the Winter Interweave Knits.

Ms. Sock Queen - we, too, are excited about your new sock yarn and are anxious ro see one knitted up!

Excellent! I hope you'll make that argyle sock yoru very next project. I read that in the 50ies they did have yarn that was "precision dyed" so it would knit into a perfect argyle sock. Or not. If you weren't on gauge ... Or everybody was a robot in the 50ies. The colours are lovely, so what ever it ends up looking like (I mean pattern-wise), it'll be one excellent sock. I mean, two.

Ooh, the argyle colorway is beautiful. I'll be interested to see how it knits up too. I don't remember seeing that color before. I have some LL Vera I really want to knit but this darned spinning keeps getting in the way of my knit projects.

That is some beautiful sock yarn. Argyle huh? :)

Not to burst the bubble, but Argyle is named for a Chicago neighborhood in tribute to LL's new base of operation. Argyle is a stop on the "L"in the center of a Vietnamese district.

Your Retro Ribs are beautiful.

Now why would that burst my bubble, Alissa? It's so neat knowing where the name came from. What a cool name for a subway stop!

I love those socks! I've been wanting to make some solid textured ones, too, but everytime I try to buy the yarn I end up falling for the variegated colors again.
My recent visit to the funagain games website to check out the new games made me remember how much I had been wanting to try a new one. I wanted to get something shorter for when we don't have hours to play, but I was enticed by Puerto Rico instead. I'll be ordering it Monday. Woohoo!
