"summer days drifting away, to uh-oh those summer nights"

Summer weather has finally arrived in Boston. That means I'm at the playground for hours every day. And I get to wear all my tanks again!

I'm not getting much knitting done at the park though since the boys need to be changed constantly from their water clothes for playing in the fountain to their dry clothes for playing on the playground. And back again once they get hot and need to cool off in the water again. And then I have to make the water balloons. Oh and then there's the swinging and the rolling down the hill. Can you believe that I'm actually sore after our first few full days at the park!

But at night, with our air conditioner re-installed in the window, I can knit away on all my projects, even the wool ones! Clapotis, Katy, and my Koigu anklets have filled the warm nights so far.

And I've nearly finished the first koigu anklet. Once I'm done with this pair and can check my numbers, I'll be able to post my little anklet/pom-pom sock pattern for you all. I'll get to it one of these nights!

Love the tank and I love the picture of the almost finished anklet and the little pairs of feet nearby...very cute!

I'm exhausted just reading about your days at the park. I bet the boys love it though. :) Your blue tank is beautiful. :)

Love the colorway of the anklets & tank top, which fits you perfectly. You've finally convinced me - my next project will be a pair of anklets (less work) in pink Koigu or Lorna Laces
for me (hopefully, your pattern is for a size 7-1/2 foot)! You so deserve knitting time at night after spending so much time w/twin 3 year old boys at the park (I'm tired just thinking of it)!

Also, I can hardly wait for you to post pics of the finished denim sweater, which is too cute for words!!!

I can't wait for that anklet pattern it looks lovely! We're trapped in the house today-the pollen count and air quality are too bad for outdoor play.

Ohhhh! I'm excited to see how little koigu these puppies take!

:)

Can't wait for the pattern for your cute footies. Very curious about how you're knitting the toe of the sock.

We can relate to endless hours spent at the park... makes for some great knitting time, eh? I swear I get more knitting done in the summer which seems bass ackwards to me.

Love the tank!

Hey, I remember that song! "Tell me more, tell me more...."

Your Koigu anklets are so pretty. I still haven't knitted anything with Koigu....A pair of summer anklets might the perfect reason to start!

Also curious about those toes =) Can't wait for the pattern - they're so beautiful!

Sock-A-licious!

The tank looks so cute on you! I love that color of koigu, never seen one quite like that (although that's the beauty of koigu though huh?)

Wow, I would be tired too. I bet they have great times at the playground though!
I like your meet-in-the-middle toe method, on that anklet there. Cool.

Seeing how cute that tank is on you, I need to face the hard fact. My Copacabana tank is too darned big. It needs ripping.

Posted by: claudia at June 12, 2005 10:07 PM

I love summer, don't you? I found my Copa tank at the weekend when I was looking for something to wear on our trip to the forest. It wasn't quite warm enough over here but I'm hopefull that it will be soon enough. Sounds like you had a great day at the park, here's to many more of them!

I love the feet shot! That Koigu sock is looking good, too. Are you just about ready to Kitchner the ends together?

Posted by: Kathy at June 13, 2005 1:07 PM

Love the tank...do you mind if I ask what pattern that is? Love the colors too!

Okay...I am so going to have to learn how to do the double pointed needles so I can do socks and anklets!

I can't WAIT for the anklet pattern. I have snippets of Koigu left over and I have high hopes I can squeeze some anklets out of it. Plus, I've just been doing the standard kitchener stitch grafted toes and the toes on these are so much cuter. Get to counting girl!

I love your tank. Pls. do tell pattern and yarn! Cute socks also. We don't have an A/C...can't afford it...and we live in Israel...BLAH! ;-)
(truth be told we got portable a/c the inlaws no longer need)I don't like going out to the parks around here because it's too hot...no fountains.

If you're looking for pattern info on my site, it's usually at the top of the archive page for that project. Links to the relevant archive page are always located after the time stamp. So for this post, click on "tank girl chic" to get to the archive page for the tank.

The pattern is an old out of print Phildar pattern and the yarn is their now discontinued Copacabana yarn. There might be more copies of the pattern and some remaining yarn at the usual Phildar sources (like breiweb.nl in the Netherlands or Knit n' tyme in Canada).

Jennifer has written a very similar pattern for Magknits. She has some suggestions for substitute yarn there as well. So check that out!
