since we're here
The boys have been begging to go down to the Frog Pond in Boston Common (no frogs, just a wading pool for kids), so we did. We splashed around a bit, played in the nearby playground and then went to Downtown Crossing for a snack. And since we were in the neighborhood....

They don't call this place Windsor Button for nothing!

But look, they also have yaaaaaaaarn*.

Happy boys, happy mommy, happy day.
* I only bought a clasp for my latest Sophie and one lone skein of yarn to try out for a design idea. I browsed and fondled, and trust me, they had lots of fabulous stuff that I haven't found elsewhere, but I couldn't think of a reason to bring any of it home. The same thing happened to me on my recent trip to KnitNY. After Jon spotted me there, he asked what I was getting and I told him there were lots of neat, new yarns I'd love to get, but I simply didn't need them. Jon said: "That means your stash is big enough." My response is still the same: "Damn!"

fantastic fiber voyage
Aww. glad you had a great trip to downtown Boston! I still have to get my butt to Windsor Button... I have heard lots of great things :) I am the same way with yarn, I can't buy it if I don't have anything planned for it...
Such control! You are so lucky to have so many wonderful ys near you!!!
What a great day! I'm also very impressed with your willpower, but agreeing that your stash is big enough...oh dear...take care :)
Is one's stash ever truly big enough? ;)
Actually, I can totally relate, though it's hard for me to go to a yarn shop and not buy *something* . . . so at times when I think I have too much yarn, I just have to avoid places that sell it!
My stash has reached capacity as well. It makes me want to knit like a fiend so I will want to buy more:) I received a LYS certificate for my birthday and haven't even wanted to use it yet.
Thanks for reinforcing the restraint! Me too. I'm askiing bloggers to post the cost of their WIP's and FO's to help me out. No judgement, no explanations, Just the Facts Ma'am just the facts.
I have been trying to have restraint on my various yarn store trips... often, like on my recent trip to Knit Happens, to no avail. To which I also have to say, "Damn!"
What a cool button-bin!
When I was a little girl, I loved kittens. I wanted to take every single one of them home. "Daddy, please can we take this one home, he's sooooooo cute!!!" To which my father would reply "All kittens are cute, and we can't take them all home, can we?"
Which I now apply to yarn. Honestly, I haven't met a ball of wool I didn't like. But when I find myself wishing I could blow my hubby's entire paycheck on yarn, I tell myself "All wool is wonderful...." you know the rest. It allow me to be more *discriminating* with my yarn purchases. (grin)
Is it just me or did the boys grow up this summer? They look so big! Weren't they just babies?
My SIL is so taking me there when we next visit! =)
oh...I better tell my MIL, she crochets and she's visiting her daughter in Sept.
as for sokcs: one is finshied...and one more is on the needles, at the heel. But I'm putting it on a small small pause so I can make a square for the knitty gritty project
Calling in from the UK. Am so jealous of you having such a shop on that side of the Atlantic. I'd love to be able to go shopping for the Swarovski crystal buttons alone!
Are those adorable boys of yours, twins? How old? We have twin boys, age 3 1/2. Just being nosy :-)
