weasleys' weekly wizard wheezes

Harry Potter fever is alive and well in Germany! In Hugendubel (the coolest name for a bookstore EVER!), they are counting down the days to the release of Book 6 in German.

And from our band of Harry Potter fans:

Katia finished her son's J weasley! Wow! If that doesn't sell you on the Yarn Warehouse pattern, then nothing will. And Micky finished the first of several mini weaselys. Soooo cute.

Elsewhere Mouse's weasley-in-the-works seems to have been hexed, but Erin's Ravenclaw scarf is crusing along nicely. And new knitalongers, Jen and Pixie, both plan to make scarves for opening night of Goblet of Fire. Who else is knitting for opening night?? I may have to add a countdown to the sidebar!!

Since I've discovered I'm allergic to alpaca, I've had to give up on my Andean Treasure Weasley, but I've started a modified Slytherin Quidditch sweater for munchkin, that's coming along very nicely, so I'm hoping to have that done for the premier.

I need to think of something for myself - I'm just not sure what.

I've been working on and blogging about my first Weasley sweater -- it's going pretty well. I hope to have it done before your next Weasleys' Weekly Wizard Wheezes!

Alison, thanks so much for sharing your wonderful pictures. I traveled in Europe (France, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, and Germany, also went to Prague) before I was married, and then my husband and I were there for a month for our honeymoon (London, Rome, Florence, Interlaken, Paris). But I never have made it to Berlin, though I have always wanted to go. Your pictures made me feel as if I were there, with someone who really knows and loves the city. What a treat!

YAY!~

I'm so mad i went to three stores yesterday trying to find needles! I am on the hunt again today with only one more store to check. I really want to start today Instead of having to wait for needles in the mail :(

The new movie comes out so soon!!

I got my socks!!! Count them...2 pair. Beautiful & they fit purfectly. I can not believe how lucky I am. That Karen is such a sweet knittin fool!! Thank you Karen...you did an awesome job.
:( Still haven't heard from my pal & I didn't have any measurements on her other than shoe size so I hope they fit & she wasn't disappointed. I have emailed her & still haven't heard anything. Maybe she is on vacation or something. I'm just anxious.

I'm almost at the third set of trapped bars on my scarf, so who knows--maybe I'll get it done in time!

I finished my Gryffindor bookscarf but don't have a digital camera, so...no pictures yet. Sorry. :-(

I finished the twelfth repeat on the Azkaban scarf. DOn't think I'll do thirteen. Now I need to tuck ends and add fringe.

I've started a pair of Gryffindor socks that I'm hoping to finish by the time we see the movie. (I'm not much of an 'opening night' kind of gal, so I don't quite have ALL that pressure.)

No pix on the site, but soon!

I want to have a HiP done by opening night. I just have to find the right yarn. I've been looking at the LYS but it looks like I'll have to resort to an online buy. I hope I get it done in time!

Book 6 arrived at 7:24 this morning. I've posted a new picure, featuring Harry and the completed scarf (now with fringe).
