things I did and things I didn't do this weekend

Yesterday we made our annual trip to Davis Mega Maze, "the finest field maze in the United States." Each year they make a HUGE corn maze with a fun theme. Last year was the Wild West, this year was superheroes.

The boys wore their capes.

We got lost, shot tennis balls at bad guys, had lunch in the middle, got lost some more, and finally, after over three hours, we got to ring the bell and exit the maze (and, don't tell the boys, but mom and dad even asked the maze's "Superheroes" for a couple of hints along the way!).

So that's three hours I didn't spend knitting the Halloween costumes. Then there were the almost three hours we spent in the car driving there and back, during which I still didn't knit a thing. Yes, we all knew it would happen: I've felt a few twinges in the wrist. A day off is what my hands needed. Well, after yesterday, my hands may be well rested, but boy are my legs tired!

Looks like fun! I hope your wrists recover soon!

Maybe you could recruit some Knitsmiths if it comes down to the wire? (Although I'm still betting you'll finish with time to spare) The corn maze looks fun.

that looks like so much fun! I might have to come for a visit next year. Not that I'll be any help navigating the maze, but it looks like too much fun to miss.

Sorry your wrists were hurting, but good for you doing the smart thing and giving them a rest. You'll feel much better and it would really suck for you to almost finish the costumes and then seriously injure yourself. Much better to take a day off!

Sounds like a lot of fun, even if you did need some super-assistance along the way (but isn't that what superheroes are FOR?) You made me laugh, though--one of my Mom's favorite stories is of a trip we took when I was little and we went into a maze somewhere or other--I zoomed on ahead and found my way out, but my Mom got completely lost, so I went back in to rescue her. I was all of three at the time (grin). You know, I'm going to have to ask, though . . . she never mentions my Dad and my sister when she tells that story--I'm going to have to ask her where they were!

Looks like a fun day! My cute little blond 4 y/o thing would have loved that maze too, but since we don't have one, he decided I needed to come outside with him in the absolute poring rain this afternoon to stomp in puddles. The biggest puddles he could find. He came home with about half a cup of water sloshing in each wellington boot, but the smiles and giggles made the mess so worth it.

Glad you gave your hands a rest. That's quite a pace you've been keeping on the Thing sweaters!

Hey! You were in our neck of the woods-we love Davis Farmland and the Maze. This week end I didn't knit much but did spin with my new Bosworth spindle....yum.
