the elves are up to their necks in holiday knitting
After hours of knitting on that tiny circular needle (which I've forgiven for being so fiddly now that I'm on a 24 inch circ), the turtleneck shrug has two sleeves and the beginnings of an actual turtleneck.

But now I'm out of yarn. Ooops! Well, that's what happens when you substitute. Another thing that happens: the yarn store sells its last skeins while you're knitting. Double oops. So it's on order. No worries, though, it's not discontinued (although that is the third thing that usually happens). I should have it in time for Christmas.
Did I just jinx myself?

Or, it could be a mock-turtleneck.
Whoops! Well, bad luck does tend to come in threes...
Oh no! Good luck getting the yarn! I'm drooling at the thought of a Cash Iroha Turtleneck Shrug. What a great idea.
Hey Alison,
I ran out of yarn making this and I used Rowan's Kid Classic as instructed in the pattern. My turtleneck is long enough to cover my neck but not long enough to fold over.
Worse come to worst, it would probably look really neat to use a contrast color for the rest fo the neck. Give it a little bit more flair :)
wow, on the foto the sleeves look like as if they were about 3 metres long - each sleeve!!!
no wonder, that you ran out of yarn! ;-)
hope, you'll get the yarn...
good luck
sab
I subbed on mine also, and ran out- I'm beginning to wonder if this is a Scarf Style trend, as I'm making a couple other designs and have run out. :P
Oh no! That's rotten luck -- hope the yarn order arrives soon, the shrug looks sooo comfortable!
No! Don't say that! "I should have it in time for Christmas" is almost guaranteed, just like "it couldn't get any worse" to temp fate. Consider yourself warned ;-)
I just finished mine Sunday and was terrified I would run out - but actually had a ball leftover. I think my neck could have been smaller, though, so that is an option with yours. Love the color, btw.
I thought at first that it was a new style of shrug for a very skinny person. :)
OK, Al, now you are giving me second thoughts about NOT making that shrug, which I cast on and ripped a few times a coupla weeks ago. I hope you find more yarn! What color is it? I have some Cash in the stash ~
oh no! my fingers are crossed for you!
hurry hurry mr. postman!
