Thanks to everyone for making the knitalong such an enjoyable experience! It was a real pleasure to check in each day and see so many wonderful gifts being knit.
In order to keep up with the updates this time, I'm asking for four or five VERY RELIABLE gals to "watch" a certain number of blogs, take update emails, and send me a weekly round-up for my tuesday post.
And the tech guys are brainstorming about sign-ups. More info next week!
And I am so ready to kick it! I got my yarn for my boots picked out and am excited to start drilling! Look, Johanna even loaned me some goggles.

these boots were made for knitting
I would love to be a Sockapaloooza sock sister. I only participated in the last one, however I am a daily blog stalker, in fact last round I stalked several of the sock blogs...
I'd definitely be willing to be a Sock Sister. I plow through a huge pile of blogs every day; a few dozen more isn't going to make that much difference (I read really, really fast).
Even though it takes me forever to get a knitting project done, I can definitely blog watch. You'd think that some days when work is particularly boring, I surf blogs or something. I'd be happy to lend a hand.
I'd be happy to help with the Tuesday sock roundup blog watching. I've just figured out all the organizational stuff I need for my new knitalong (with Wednesday updates), so I think I'm all set up, with Bloglines folders and Excel spreadsheet in hand, to add another day of blog watching to my list. Just let me know if you need my help.
I'd be happy to be a sock sister for you if you still need people to volunteer...
I can also be a Sock Sister if you need it.
Your sock savior socks are really lovely!
I'm happy to be a Sock Sister if you need any more. I read plenty every day already, so can definitely add some more to my Bloglines!
I'd love to be a sock sister--major fun! More blogs to read and people to email--I would love it.
I have been planning the socks I will knit for my pal this round...I was very happy with the ones I gave and I wear my received socks ALL THE TIME. This is definitely the most fun -along I've done.
Let me know if I can socksister it!
You've got a ton of volunteers already, but I'm happy to sign up as well if you need me!
Offering my services to blog watch. I enjoyed the stalking of blogs last round and found a whole new bunch of pages that I now read on a regular basis.
I would be happy to volunteer.
i can be a sock sista' if you need me to be....let me know...hey, those glasses are all the rage in LA
I'm a blog stalker. I volunteer. i had so much fun with the last one I'd love to be in the next.
Well, if you need a ton of volunteers plus one, my middle name is "reliable", and let's face it, I already read a ton of knitting blogs :)
Oooo! I love that sockapaloooza button!
Can blog watch if needed.
Man are you sexy in them goggles - gotta get me some fer sure!
I am happy to help w/ the Tuesday Sock update. Can't wait to sign up for the exchange too!
I am so jealous of the boot drilling that is going on. So Fun!
I was going to volunteer to be one of your sistas but it looks like you've got plenty! You certainly look like you're having fun over there!
Congratulations to the Holiday KAL winners!
And hooray for Sockapaloooza! I love the sock monkeys on the button. I'd be happy to be a Sock Sister, if you need any more volunteers.
Glad you have proper safety equipment for the drilling phase. It does look strangely alluring on you. Could an Alison-the-power-driller "We Can Kick It!" poster be next?
I have just stumbled across your blog (linked from someone doing the Learn to Knit Afghan and I'm currently working through the same book) - I would love to participate in the sock project, it sounds like fun. And your blog looks like fun too.
I can't believe you are ready to drill!! I'm still waiting on the shoes.
Then again. . . if you go first, the rest of us can pick up tips from you.
The savior socks are beautiful, so far!
I can't wait to see what happens with those "Kickin" shoes! Are they shoes you have had or did you buy new ones?
i'd be happy to help with tuesday roundup- and i'd also like to volunteer to be a sock angel- if some gets forgotten by their pal!!
I'll happily volunteer to be a sock sister, although it looks like you might have your volunteers already. :)
i'm sure you have you're gals to watch the sockapaloooza but if you don't i'd love to help i'm ALWAYS on the puter and i love reading blogs! LMK

As always, late to the party! Just wanted to say that I'd be happy to help out with round three in any way! And I LOVE the button - The Husband keeps asking me when I'm going to knit a sock monkey. And a quick update - I've got one savior sock done and the second started - hope to have it done by the end of next week, at the latest!
You have inspired me, I do happen to have 1 skien of Calmer I did not know what to do with, which I'll use for making Shedir by Jenna Wilson for my collegue's mom who has just started Chemo.
I'd love to help you out with the Sockapaloooza, but i'll need to know more info before I take such a task on board, as I really should bite on more than I chew. It all depends on how many blogs I would have to review.
Your Kick it looking good to go...it's begining to tease me to also join the fan though I will not be able to afford it for a few month...and I would like my boots to have flat heals and a squarish toe.
Angle the drill as parrallel to the sole as possible, otherwise the innards of the shoe get really chewed up. This becomes the greatest challenge at the toe area, so I sometimes insert a piece of leather or cardboard in the toe as a buffer. I hope the capezios are comfortable, I just used them because on discountdancesupply.com they were really cheap ($10) and great for demo, but they seemed a little stiff... just about any shoe that's comfortable will do fine (except anything with any netting or padding inside). Also, I don't think the episode mentioned this, but use a small drill bit initially and then move up to a thicker one. Also even more important than safety glasses are maybe gloves. I like to insert my finger into the shoe to feel when the drill bit is breaking through and to make sure it doesn't hit the inner sole of the shoe, but I totally totally don't recommend this because I got some wounds from doing that, but some tough leather gloves would come in handy if you decided to take this approach. Also, make the holes at the back of the shoe (say the four back most holes) a tiny weensie bit larger because it will really be tight trying to tie in the ends at the back of the shoe if you don't. Also, the proportions as given in the pattern tend to yeild "fat feet" and overly skinny ankles, since the knitting over the shoe is thicker than the knitting past the shoe. So on some occasions I have doubled the strand once I get past the shoe edge and had nice results with the ankle to foot proportions with very minimal to imperceptible thickness discrepancies. Good luck!
I cannot wait to see those boots! When I saw that episode, I thought they were awesome but couldn't imagine anyone actually making them. I am totally going to be living vicariously through you!
Can't wait for signups! I've missed them in the past, I'm always 2 steps behind. Hopefully this time I'll be ready! I'll be stalking you now!
