weasley's weekly wizard wheezes

Erica has another weasley sweater to show us! This one is for her other little girl and was knit by her mother-in-law. What a great pair those girls make in their weasleys!
Kitty Kitty finished her husband's Azkaban scarf - in Aurora 8, yum!

Kylie joined the knitalong and is planning a weasley and a Gryffindor scarf
And Erin has already started a weasley. She admits that making her own HP scarf was the reason she began knitting in the first place. A girl after my own heart!

Since we're admitting things today, look what I bought on eBay:

The boys have so many Legos, I figure I'm allowed to have one too.

Is that really a Harry Potter lego man? Awesome!

I have the Dumbledore's Office lego set... it was a present from my husband for my 28th birthday. You're never too old for Legos! Especially if they have Hogwarts professors. :)

Never apologize for Legos! We have managed to accumulate almost all of them. We even have the Knight Bus, and the Durmstrang ship. And I am pregnant with my first kid. :-D

I have a quidditch Harry but without hair. He and the cat had a run in. Other than that I just have the Knight Bus they gave out at the theaters.

Legos are the best! That Harry Potter lego is the cutest lego I've ever seen!!!

A Harry Potter lego? Of course you need it. It's nice to see that there are so many of us adults out there who value the important things in life. I was behind a silver van yesterday that had the license plate PORTKEY. People I really wish I knew.

Is it too late to join your "Weasley Along"? I found your site using google. I was looking for a place to buy a Weasley...found that, but it was too expensinve...so I thought I'd try to make one. That lead me to your site. Awesome! I taught myself to knit with circular needles over Christmas break. I started with the Griffindor scarf. Then made 3 pair of various socks on the circulars...now I'm finally confident that I can do the Weasley sweater. I got the Rowan felted tweed (Midnight & Corn) and I'm going to cast on this weekend, using the pattern you put online (Thank you ever so much for that!). So you can chalk up another new knitter thanks to Harry Potter! ...oh yeah, I don't have a blog yet, but I'm thinking of starting one so I can post pictures of waht I've completed so far.

Hello! I'm making your Weasley sweater (the back's done and just cast on for the front) and have been wondering how to join the knitalong. I googled it but can only find buttons. Thanks!

I didn't begin knitting for Potter, but I'm doing it now! My friends and I are obsessed. I made mitts the other week and my friend said they looked like Harry's quidditch gloves. I suppose I'll make them in my house colors soon!

Harry Potter lego!I WANT ONE:)

Posted by: Kylie at January 28, 2006 10:26 PM

Forgot to mention that I'm making the sweater in Jaeger Felted Tweed in blue and white for the body and kind of a pumpkin color for the letter.

That's really cute. I love e-bay for that kind of stuff.
I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the sockapalooza to start!!!

I am also making your Weasley sweater pattern. I am using LB Wool-Ease Worsted in Denim Twist & I split & re-plied a light & dark grey together for my 'E'. ^_^ Back, Front & Collar are finished & I have picked up the stitches for one sleeve.

But I have a question... On the sleeve decreases, am I supposed to spread them out every fifth row (i'm doing a size 36) or do I do them all together? And then knit stockinette to 16".

Thanks!

Geez...that's one project I haven't started. I'll just wait until the next book or the next movie comes out, then I'll do it.

Great work! I love these designs but I have made nothing inspired by HP yet! (it's on my list of future knitting projects)

Any news on when the pattern for the new Ron sweater from GoF will be available?

Thanks for you-know-what :)

You're a darling!

i live in the land of lego's ( denmark) thanks for buying so much lego is keeping the company alive:O)) I find it really awesome, that you love it as much as my kid did, when he was a bit younger. We have almost a ton of lego stowed away in the attick, for the "hope to come" grandchildren.
When I think of the hours I've spend on the floor building houses, castles and pirateships, It was so much fun! even thuogh I had to sweeep the floor before I vacumed it, in order to avoid getting the little pieces in the vacumcleaner...*lol*

OK...I sent pictures of my Griffindor house scarf and the two pair of socks I've completed so far to my MoBlog. I cast on last weekend for my weasley sweater and have 3 inches done on the back so far...pictures of that as soon as it starts to look like something.
