shapely

Oooh, I love all the shaping in this t-shirt sweater pattern! Clearly, this is the front of the sweater. The pattern has you knit the front first. No idea why - there's nothing in the construction of the back that refers you to the already-knit front. Whatever, it's gorgeous!

I did fiddle around with the neckline a bit to make it a nice smooth scoop neck. As Monica pointed out, you can't see the neckline at all in the pictures in the book. I thought it already had a rounded neckline, but the decreases called for actually make a straight diagonal line on either side of the center bound off stitches. Blech.

Not blech-y of course is this synchronicity yarn. I am flying through this pattern, loving every second knitting with this yarn. I'm almost tempted to slow down so I can enjoy the yarn more, but I really can't wait to be wearing this sweater. With all that shaping, I think it's going to look awesome!

It is so beautiful, Alison. The color is just gorgeous and I love the shaping, too. I'll bet you are done with the back really fast.

It IS a gorgeous color . . . uh-oh, I'm heading off to check out the yarn . . . you always get me into trouble this way!

That looks wonderful, and one of my favorite colors. And you do knit fast, don't you? That's good though, it keeps us all motivated.

Hi Alison. I agree, the photo shows a nice scooped neck. I don't see how that neckline could be shaped with two diagonals. But that's not why I'm writing. I just want to thank you for posting so early . I'm on the West Coast (which gives you a head start on me, I know), and the first thing I do in the morning is boot up and read your blog. And you're always here! You don't know me from anything, but I really like hearing your friendly one-way chat before I get down to business in the morning. PS, I've learned a lot from you too. PPS, you're waaay cuter than that photo of you in the Weasley.

Looks great! And I like the curved collar line better, too.

It looks loverly! I think you'd look great in this t-shirty sweater too (no affiliation with the designer or site, just think it would pretty on someone shaped like you):

Thanks, Monica, I really appreciate your saying that, since I know how long you worked on getting yours just right. I love how yours came out! If anyone hasn't seen Monica's finished version, check it out here!

Shelagh, that is a neat pattern. I like all the shaping and the little open section on the top is very pretty. You've got me thinking about it! Hmmmmmm, my LYS has cotton fleece......

Ha, ha, Kris! :D (Just in case you were serious, re-read the post, there's a link to the yarn. The color name is "Rich Berry".)

What a delicious color -I love it! I haven't tried any of the Alchemy yarns yet, but I just might have to. Their colors are just too yummy!
