"c" is for congratulations

Finally, I got off my butt and pulled down the Vogue Knitting reference and looked up how to do the embroidery for the Suss monogram baby sweater. It wasn't hard - I actually did it while playing "Trouble" with the boys - I had just utterly forgotten how to do it.

B agreed to try on the sweater for me, so I could see how cute it looks on a little person's body.

note: he's at least three years older and bigger than the recipient!

B would however like to remind everyone that despite the fact that he is trying on a pink baby sweater he is 100% boy. Thanks B.

Well, another baby on my list taken care of. Hooray for me! Hooray to the parents. Hooray for baby C!

The sweater is adorable and the embroidery looks terrific.

Cute sweater! And B looks pretty good in pink - remind him that guys can wear pink too!

Tell B that pink is the new blue.

LOVE that sweater and monogram. All that baby needs now is a Kate Spade bag and she will be all set!

HA! Funny with the boy thing. My boy loves trying on the stuff, ponchos and all that, but he likes to remind me that he IS a boy. Nice!

Tell B we understand and appreciate his sacrifice. The sweater is very cute!

Posted by: Chris at March 29, 2006 9:25 AM

That sweater is ADORABLE! B definitely is boyish, even in the pink sweater. What a good sport!

Posted by: Carrie at March 29, 2006 9:34 AM

Just darling, Alison. And B, rest assured, your lego collection alone assures us you are ALL boy. Yes sireee.

Posted by: Ann at March 29, 2006 9:49 AM

The sweater is adorable, and so is B -- and he is SUCH a boy, pink sweater or not!

Posted by: Dragonfly Judy at March 29, 2006 9:57 AM

YEAH! What a GREAT sweater. I love the color. Not sure if it's the actual color or my monitor but it seems like a salmony-pink (???). Actually, the latina in me wants to call it "papaya" colored. Tee hee.

Either way, it is just DARLING. It's almost like a pink baby version of a WEASLEY sweater!!! Actually not "almost" it IS a pink baby version of a weasley!! Yeah!!!!

B's face is priceless. It just says "EWWWWW pink". The sweater is adorable.

Posted by: Saun at March 29, 2006 10:35 AM

It turned out beautifully!

You're right about the salmony pink, knittingnurse. It's such a hard color to capture with the camera!

B is helping me with my comment here. He wanted to share this:

That's just lovely! And please tell B that he is a wonderfully cooperative young man and that this will get him very far in life!

Lovely cute sweater for a little girl! And B is such a good sport!

I have this very cute wool cotton hoodie I knitted at an off moment (friends-with-babies-off-moment... long story) that's coming in handy as I'm designing my own baby sweater. It's super soft and snuggly and I was wishing to have one in my size when suddenly the idea came upon us to put it on the cat. She actually didn't mind that much and looked hilarious. I may post a picture later.

The sweater is adorable, and the monogram makes it just that much more cute. :)

Aw, the Legos aren't just boy toys. I was a FIEND for Legos as a kid. Space station set, medieval castle set... those were the days. :-)

Posted by: Beth S. at March 29, 2006 1:21 PM

LOL - such a cute picture!! B - you are a sport!

Posted by: Vicki at March 29, 2006 3:59 PM

Oooh, oooh, Beth, could that the same space station that my husband had as a kid and the boys played with while we were in Germany? It was soooo cool!

Posted by: alison at March 29, 2006 4:53 PM

So fracking adorable!

Posted by: Scout at March 29, 2006 4:58 PM

100% boy! How funny! Actually, he's like 99.9% boy, because he is missing a tooth. ;-)

Posted by: Jenny at March 29, 2006 6:01 PM

My 3 year old boy loves pink! Going to knit him a pink sweater actually. I wonder if he will grow out of it by the time he is four. :) Your boys are such good sports. Hopefully they get a kick out of seeing themselves on the computer.

Hi from Austria! That sweater turned out terrific, and I love the embroidery you did on it! Great work done!

Posted by: Dipsy at March 30, 2006 4:24 AM

I think B deserves a medal for good sportsmanship! The sweater is lovely!

Posted by: amanda at March 30, 2006 8:25 AM

Holly Jo, my boys like pink too. They don't really wear any pink, but if'd I left it up to them, they'd definitely already have some Dora underwear and some pink shoes from Stride Rite. Sometimes the girly stuff is just so much more fun!

Posted by: alison at March 30, 2006 8:53 AM

Cute sweater! He is a good sport.

Posted by: Monica at March 30, 2006 9:38 AM

I love the cursive C! Did you crochet it into the fabric?

Posted by: Cindy D at March 31, 2006 6:26 PM

GORGEOUS!!
