This is where I was with my socks before knitting group yesterday. Thanks to the pleasant company of my knitbuddies, an Easter-candy induced sugar rush, and another few hours of Sunday night tv knitting, I made it to my goal for this week. Both legs done. Phew!
And I couldn't wait to see that gorgeous heel flap in all its glory, so I went ahead and did it before taking sock number one off the needles. There's a lot of hours in that heel flap, let me tell you!
So I'm on schedule: two heels and two feet to complete in two weeks. Definitely doable!

are you kidding me? you were sitting next to me and i didn't even see that progress happen...by the way, i'm ripping out the neon green from my pink sweater. when i looked at it today, it made me throw up in my mouth....
Pretty green! My sock pal lives outside the US - do I remember you saying you were going to send us the addresses pretty soon?? I got my postcard Saturday, so I'm ready to send.
Yup, Judy, I've got one of the techguys working on it. Should be coming tomorrow!
Wow! What a lucky pal you have. These are amazing socks!
oooh, they are just beautiful. I hope you're my pal because I'd sure love those socks!
Oooh those are awesome. I'm glad I just gave in and ordered handknit holidays because I am in love with that heel.
what kind of heel are you using? it looks neat
Oh, WOW! You are a fast knitter.
Stringthing, I'm just following the pattern given in Handknit Holidays (Over the Knee Socks - check out the pattern picture in this post). It's a little tiny cable done every other stitch, every other row. And I love the way the slanted cable edging along the top of the tiny cables gives the whole heel flap an angled shape instead of the rectangluar shape of a normal heel flap. I'm not usually a fan of heel flaps, but I fell in love with this one!
I love the socks and the sweater! I have been "lurking" on your site watching the sweater progress! It turned out just beautifully! Congrats!
Those socks are so beautiful! You have a very lucky sock pal.
Ok, making that sock heel would've captivated me for hours, too! Looking good, looking good. Bless that sugar and caffeine rush.
Ooh! Look at those pretty stitches in the heel. Niiiiiiiiice!
Pretty! I love the way the pooling matches :)
I absolutely love that color of yarn! Very pretty work!
Oh wow Alison, the socks are beautiful! What a lucky sock pal you have!
Rock on with your bad, PB-egg eatin' self!
Oh, I love those heels. Love them! I actually started these socks but realized I didn't like the yarn I choose so I frogged. You are making me want to start them again!
