pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

The little men who run around inside the computer to make it work (tip: use Babelfish to translate!) are very sorry for the downtime yesterday. They're back on the job now and everything's running smoothly. Before we close the curtain, I'll give you one peek at the backside of the weasley intarsia.

And now back through the looking glass, Alice.

Oh love, love love this article. I have been watching the Maus und den Elefanten since I was very little. Nearly surprising me, that your boys over there know them too, nearly because of your german Verwandten. :)

i love how neat the back of your intarsia is! my attempts are usually messy tangles from behind.

Thanks for showing the back of it! I'm taking an intarsia class next month (from Nancie Wiseman, no less!) and was wondering if one carried the contrasting yarn up from row to row. It does appear that way. Cool!

What tidy intarsia! I have always wanted to do this...

Yes, Mary, there's no stranding across the other color, but you do carry the same yarn up for the next row of the color section. I used five balls of yarn for the H: one blue, one yellow, a blue for the center, another yellow for the other leg of the H, and one blue for the other side. That way there's no stranding and when you get back to a certain section, the yarn is just waiting there for you to pick it up and knit on. Intarsia is cool!

Love it! One can always count on die Maus to explain things. I have the voice of the "old" narrator in my head, still. I should check if it's somebody else now.
