Worked on my wedding stockings-- they are up to my knees now!! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3121/2290577608_1b69ee0c71.jpg

Oh my, Laura, they are stunning!

Posted by: ALISON at February 25, 2008 9:02 AM

Why knit, of course! I wish they'd cut out the commentary and useless remarks by the host of the Oscars.

Posted by: Chery at February 25, 2008 10:11 AM

Worked on the beaded cuffs I learned to make at STITCHES!

Posted by: Diana at February 25, 2008 10:50 AM

You didn't like Jon Stewart? Oh, I like him. I thought he was funny. I hate it though when they cut people off during their speeches with that music. What a terrible job to be the musical director and have to do that to people over and over again!

So, wha'ja knit Chery?

Posted by: ALISON at February 25, 2008 10:51 AM

i knit, and crocheted, and listened to a book tape, and played cubis until way freaking late, lol.

Posted by: minnie at February 25, 2008 11:00 AM

Oh, wow. I hope those aren't wool.

I went to the grocery store, made dinner, cleaned up, presided over showers, read with the youngest, and got the kids in bed at a reasonable hour. Exciting, no?

Doll panties! Too cute! I worked on the second sock of the Scarborough Fair pattern, I have just the last 4 toe decreases and they will be finished! Love it. (Thanks again for a terrific pattern).

Oops... sorry for any confusion about the thank you part. Got mixed up on designers and got carried away.

Posted by: Denise at February 25, 2008 11:35 AM

Thanks for your concern, Suzanne (wink, wink), but no worries, they're cotton. The undies were knit with Dale Stork and I've got more left over for a little dress already underway!

Posted by: ALISON at February 25, 2008 12:23 PM

Lol, I made the same undies for the babe I made, except fuzzier. Although the babe went to her owner without them because they didn't fit under her dress... what a hussy. ;)

Thanks for the giggle.I needed it.I worked on a Malabrigo hat and was so disappointed for Ellen Page and Juno for Best Pic.

Posted by: LaVerna at February 25, 2008 12:49 PM

They are big, aren't they Laurel. They look so cute in the book, but they are serious to-the-armpits "granny panties" on the doll! Still cute though, and actually refreshingly not sexy at all.

Posted by: ALISON at February 25, 2008 1:12 PM

Aren't the panties super cute? Wait til you start making clothes. I made a babe a few months ago. She's made out of Sugar N Cream Cotton in Ecrue. Great color for skin I think. Also the cotton is sturdy.

I tried to make the striped dress from the book, but the pattern was confusing to me. So, I came up with my own pattern. It looks just like the dress in the book. I also have a hairless doll. The hair is hard to figure out also.

Good Luck! Wee One will love it!

During the Oscars, I spun. My poor spinning wheel was feeling so neglected! It was considering letting the cat who is always sniffing around it try out it. I hardly moved the whole time, and when I finally got up, I was stiff. lol. The resulting 2-ply yarn is waiting for me to wind it off into a hank.

I worked on an eight inch square for a blanket I'm making. I'd frogged it twice already because I didn't like the way the cable was pulling on the border. We watched Ten Commandments! We only tuned in for about fifteen minutes of the Oscars and went to bed early. That's what happens when you haven't seen any of the movies nominated. :O/ I want to see Juno, though, and was sorry it didn't win more, as the reviews were very good. Love the panties! I must get the doll book. I'd love a break from eight inch squares.

Ooooh cute. I just got my book today, can't wait to get started! What yarn did you use for the doll, may I ask?

Posted by: susan at February 25, 2008 4:29 PM

lol....that is hilarous.... too cute.

Susan, my doll is made out of Jaeger Matchmaker Merino 4-ply. I was surprised that the book really called for such thin yarn and small needles, but it does! I've seen a doll made with the same pattern and larger yarn and it's super cute too, just much bigger.

Posted by: ALISON at February 25, 2008 4:59 PM

I started my first pair of fingerless mitts.

Posted by: sheryl at February 25, 2008 9:01 PM

LOL oh that is a great blog post title. I worked on a baby hat!

Guiltily, I report that I made serious inroads into boxes of Girl Scout Cookies which were delivered in the morning.

I see a stylish wardrobe for dolly in the future...and lots of odd Google search inquiries regarding the title.

I worked on my Central Park Hoodie. Spending most of the time diving down to fix a purl stitch where it should be a knit. Why is it so hard for me to follow a K2P2 rib? Why can't I remember to change to smaller needles? Am I that senile?

Posted by: Dava at February 26, 2008 9:29 AM

That is A HOOT!

Alas, I didn't get to knit during the Oscars. I was marking student papers.

Posted by: Sarah-Hope at February 26, 2008 2:42 PM

I worked on my teeny project runway dress for mason dixon. It was inspiring.
