The cables look great to me!
I wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't said anything!
Do you mean b/c one set is crossed to the left and the other to the right? I thought it was supposed to be like that so that they mirrored eachother????
This is totally post unrelated but...In case you are not aware of the crafty crow, she has posted a tutorial for what is being called a knitting nancy, spool knitter or what have you. It's a make it yourself version, using popsicle sticks and a toilet roll. Just in case you're teaching that in a knitting class anytime soon, it might be an interesting option.
by the way, you knit so much better than me that I think everything you knit looks perfect. I wouldn't have notice if you didn't point it out.
To my way of looking at it, cables are only crossed the wrong way if one in a column is crossed in a different direction than the rest - say one or 2 use a left cross when all the rest have used a right cross. Those look loely to me.
The cables are indeed supposed to cross in opposite directions from each other, but I have them twisting toward each other (toward the button bands) when the pattern actually calls for them to twist away from each other and the button bands. I just read 'em wrong - doh! They are of course perfectly fine, just not "as written".
Well, they looked good to me, too. Now I must go bravely and knit cables (lots) on the Aran sweater. HA! Only seven more months to finish it!
Looks great! I love the color and the pattern of this one. That bad boy, Georgie!
i love this little cardigan... and when I made it, I forgot to mirror the cables and no one noticed it except for me

No, they're not! Your cables are PERFECT! Many people forget to switch the twist on their cable so that they mirror each other but it looks SO much better that way!
