the tide is coming

The wee Tide cardigan from Miss Bea's Seaside is almost done! I finished the sleeves and that pretty pretty edging along the button bands and neck.

This is such a delightful little knit. The lace pattern is quickly learned and fun to knit. And the rest is quick, quick, quick. I have yet to meet a Miss Bea pattern I didn't like.

That's an adorable sweater! Looks like an awful lot of ends to weave in, though. Is that just my imagination? :)

I've been thinking that it looks like a lot too, but I don't think there's really an unusual amount of ends in there. I like to leave extra long ends so I can use them for seaming, so they tend to look like more. I did have to join new yarn in a couple of pieces. That adds in another two ends each time. And then separate button bands bring more ends. It should seam up quickly though: all straight seams and all ends by the seams. No problem!

So cute!!! What an adorable sweater. Wonderful work as always.

That is so cute - I have to agree with you about the Miss Bea patterns - just wish they came up to a size 10 or so rather than only a size 4. This one (like almost all of them) would look good on a child of any age - or even an adult as far as that goes. I think that is a large part of their appeal - lovely classic patterns with just enough complexity to keep them interesting to look at & to knit.

Adorable! That is a very sweet sweater without being saccharine.

I totally agree, Lara. That's why I picked it for this couple. I wasn't sure just how girly they were or wanted their baby to be. It's definitely a girl sweater, but because it's not all frilly, it's not too much. Plus, the red is nice for a non-girly-girl girl sweater. (I also LOVE red for boy sweaters too. It's a terrific neutral and much better than that pale light green that newborns so often get!)

Wow, that is so cute! So great to see your knits, I always like the colors you choose.

Now see what you've done?? Now I've gotta get that book. Sigh. (Thanks!)

Lovely little sweater, and like Toni in Florida, I am now going to have to get the book!

Can I ask what yarn you used? It looks so much like the baby shrug I just made out of Plymouth Encore in a watermelon pink like that.

Yours is so lovely. The lace is gorgeous.
